Republicans debuted a new ad Thursday in which a frustrated former Obama supporter expresses her disappointment with the president. The only problem: The woman in the video is actually an RNC staffer.

The new ad features Republican National Committee Director of Hispanic Outreach Bettina Inclan, who in the ad purports to be an average woman voter who supported Obama in 2008. She describes her disillusionment with the president in the ad as a romantic relationship gone awry.

“You’re just not he person I thought you were,” Inclan says in the ad, addressing a cardboard cutout of Obama. Inclan lists out-of-control spending and Obama’s penchant for hanging out with Hollywood celebrities as reasons for the break-up. “It’s not me, it’s you. I think we should just be friends.”

The ad asks people to share why they’re “breaking up” with Obama.

The RNC says its ad, which first appeared on television Thursday is not dishonest.

At least by RNC current standards.

Ms. Inclan may have supported Obama - her views are documented to be flexible

A press briefing meant to promote the Republican National Committee's efforts to reach out to Hispanic voters went awry when the committee's director of Hispanic Outreach said Mitt Romney had not yet established an immigration policy.

"My understanding that he is still deciding what his position on immigration is," said Bettina Inclan, the RNC's Director of Hispanic Outreach when asked how she planned to deal with concerns from Hispanic voters that Republican policies on immigration are too restrictive.

Within an hour of the briefing's conclusion, Inclan sent a tweet from her account saying, "I misspoke, Romney's position on immigration is clear," with a link to the page on Romney's immigration policy from his website.

What in the ad reflects a "frustrated former Obama supporter "? What does it matter who plays the part?

At least pretend it is not agitprop and hire someone who is not a GOP apparatchik - surely Karl Rove can spring the $$ to hire an alleged "former Obama supporter" who does not work full time for the RNC if they cannot find someone who actually did vote for Obama in 2008 and will not be doing so again:noidea:

Don't be so quick to point fingers.

Obama Campaign Admits Knowing Story Behind Man in Super PAC Ad

One day after claiming the Obama campaign had no knowledge of the story of the man included in a pro-Obama super PAC ad, spokeswoman Jen Psaki admitted the campaign had worked with him before.

“No one is denying that he was in one of our campaign ads,” Psaki told reporters aboard Air Force One, referring to Joe Soptic, who was shown in a Priorities USA Action ad linking Mitt Romney to Soptic’s wife’s death.

The Obama campaign acknowledged today that it ran a television ad and hosted a conference call that promoted the same despicable attack that was used in a discredited ad run by President Obama’s Super PAC

I swear it's getting harder and harder to not be embarrassed to be an American.
"Breaking up"? Our culture is pathetic is so many ways. How pitiful it has become is so multi layered and faceted it's almost beyond explanation. You just have to take a step back and look at it.

At least there's still the NFL.
