Hate to say it but Tomlin not throwing challenge flag on that 71-yard TD when there was a blatant hold changed the moment and cost the game. And what was up with throwing the ball only on 3rd down in first half? Come on now, you have an awesome QB and the best WRís in the league, mix it up! You made it easy for Denverís D on every play!

First of all, you can't challenge a missed hold. Secondly: We ran to open the pass. That never happened, and we eventually reverted to just throwing the damn thing.

I don't think the coaches had anything to do with the long pass plays we gave up. Not to mention the runs we gave up 4 and 5 yards a pop. They was enough blame to go around for everyone.

From a football standpoint....

On a scoring play you can. Being here in SF, I’ve seen Harbaugh do it multiple times! That guy fights for every inch, no matter how significant.

Coaches don't execute players do, for pete's sake it is week one, if you ask yourself what standard do you have to hold yourself to, the preseason? I look at this game as a building block, oh and by the way, no Ryan Clark, James Harrison and missing two starters on the O-Line, IMO the coaches did the best with what they had, in a hostile environment against a pretty good QB. I would say that the Steelers will only get better, too many tangibles or obstacles in Denver to overcome, I think the coaching staff held together well and will continue to do so.

Actually no you can't, not even on a scoring play, just as if you think there is offensive pass interference on a scoring play, it is a judgement call on the field (official's discretion or point of view), just like blowing a play dead, it is not challengeable!!!!

You can't challenge scoring plays at all...

They're automatically reviewed

And they don't look for holds either. All they do is make sure either the runner got in without being tackled first or the receiver maintained possession of the ball.

in fact, isn't it a penalty if you challenge a scoring play?

I agree, it was the coaches, Haley waited too long to hand the reins to Ben and LeBeau's crew was poorly prepared.
