A “bizarre scene” is apparently unfolding in the Jets open locker room, as linebacker Bart Scott (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2229/bart-scott) apparently threatened to punch a reporter.
According to the Twitter feed of Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, the incident began when Dan Leberfeld of JetsConfidential.com took a cell phone photo (https://twitter.com/HubbuchNYP/status/249197700900347907) of Scott, who then suggested Leberfeld “get a life.”
Words were exchanged, and according to Hubbuch, Jets PR man Bruce Speight stepped between the two, the “only thing that seemed to prevent fisticuffs (https://twitter.com/HubbuchNYP/statuses/249196502935822336).”
Scott apparently threatened to punch Leberfeld, who replied “Yeah, and I’ll sue you!”
Scott said: “I don’t care! (https://twitter.com/HubbuchNYP/status/249199275630792704)”
Earlier this offseason, Scott declared a “media mutiny (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/09/bart-scott-declares-a-media-mutiny/),” by which he meant boycott.
If the Jets are trying to dispel the notion of a circus, they have a funny way of going about it.

Dan Leberfeld sounds like a complete tool. He called for a medic boycott of the Jets while working for JetsConfidential? Wouldn't that put him out of a job? I always laugh when people threaten to sue to get out of a fight. I don't think you can be more cowardly and the guy comments on one of the toughest games in the world. It goes without saying that for his part Bart Scott has always been an idiot.

no...Scott is the one who called for the "boycott". Regardless....the player has to show restraint in this case, period.
Media, questions, & the like come with the job. If you can't handle it, turn in your helmet and go get an office or factory job like the rest of the population.

Bart Hubbuch‏@HubbuchNYP

Bart Scott's exact quote to Leberfeld: "I'll smack the sh*t out of you!" He followed up by saying: "B*tch ass, motherf*****!":sofunny:

Leberfeld is lucky he was in a crowded room with PR folks to break it up or Scott would have imposed a beatdown
