way to go Tony
CONCORD, N.C. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a concussion and will sit out the next two Sprint Cup races at Charlotte and Kansas.
The injury ends NASCAR's most popular driver's championship chances this season.
Hendrick Motorsports says Earnhardt Jr. was diagnosed Wednesday afternoon. He sustained the concussion in the 25-car pileup on the last lap of Sunday's race at Talladega.
Regan Smith will replace Earnhardt Jr. in the No. 88 Chevrolet in the next two events.

man, that is screwed up. stewart has been wrecking the field his entire career. people just gloss over it because he is earnhardt sr aggressive, and won a few champs, yet he has the gall to say he finally dont have to worry about the young keselowski taking everyone out.
sucks for joonyur, but i would say NASCAR is way ahead of the curve in regards to the 4 major sports when it comes to "player" safety, and drug testing.
talk about possibly wrecking an entire season.

One down, 10 other drivers to go.>>>Smoke
come to think of it, JR's post race interview was the most lucid I've ever heard him speak, should have known something was up

i hear a clip from him today. it sounds like he may have seeked the medical clearance on his own. as he put it, he wasnt gonna step out of the car on his own and needed to hear it from a doctor.
kudos to him if thats the case. appearantly he's had 2 concussions in a row and said he cant get hit in the head like that again.
and yeah, anybody but stewie (or johnson).

fear not JR fans, he will still be the center of attention
ESPN started their post race recap with "this is the first time since 1979 that an Earnhardt didn't start a race".....then went on a 3 minute review of the concussion, the decision to see a doctor, the courage it took to sit out, pictures of Jr. watching the race, video of his presser, and a summary of why he wasn't racing........................
Oh yeah, Clint won the race that Jr. wasn't in. Jimmy took third in the race that Jr. didn't run and Gordon sped on Pit road while Jr. wasn't racing
