Relax. A lot can happen in two weeks...like a list of formal charges being filed.

Santonio Holmes got one week when he was charged with having marijuana in his vehicle (charges later dropped) - I guess Tomlin would have suspended Holmes for 2 weeks if Santonio then would have attempted to run over the police and fled the scene - good for Santonio he was mellow when he was stopped

i wonder if him apologizing to the team had anything to do with them not giving him the axe the way cowher did bam morris.

in any case, he's not getting off easy, he very well can serve some jail time.

just referring to Tomlin's "no further punishment planned" statement and about wanting to send a message quickly...
Actually, considering the many, multiple, and the seriousness of it all, it sends a message of a slap on the wrist, if anything...
Jail time or no jail time. I was looking for something much, much stronger from the team.

what is the cap situation - if he ends up facing jail time - can't the Steelers get out of the hit?

Are they actually allowed to levy anything stronger? Pretty sure punishments need cleared through the league and, the big roadblock, the union. Until there's a list of real charges being brought, the union is likely to fight anything too harsh.

....and those charges will definitely be forthcoming. I still look for the Steelers to do more...likely the release will happen. I'm sure this is a temporary thing.

Agree. Once the charges and a trial are set, he'll be smacked down. Maybe even sooner.

A slap on the wrist is pretty much all the team can do for now, on the basis of his bringing shame to the brand.
