This is a former #1 offensive lineman who was flying to meet with a team last night (although it didn't say which team).
I wonder if we are one of the teams taking a look at him since we're in such dire straits on the offensive line, even though we normally don't get involved in these types of things.

if he indeed has multiple offers, that doesn't bode well for us IMHO

can he play TE? sign him and cut leonard pope?

just think... if ben is only sacked as much as jay cutler it will actually be an improvement.

Well considering we are losing about 2 OL per game we need him and some other body to rotate in as well....

Well Gilbert the terminator is out for now, so our Oline should come out unscathed this next game!

He's terrible and damaged goods. If you can't make the Bears' OL, we don't want you.

it's kina ironic that the only lineman we have that isn't banged up is our most injury prone (colon)

Chris Williams visiting line-needy Eagles today

Former Bears first-rounder Chris Williams’ unemployment may not last long.

Williams told Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune he was visiting the Eagles Wednesday, the day after being cut by the Bears.

“Now, I will get an opportunity to go play somewhere, and I’m excited about that,” Williams said. “The Bears are a good team, they will do well and I will miss the guys. It sucks being released and that type of thing. But sitting on the bench here for the whole year wasn’t going to help me in free agency. Now, I’ll get a chance somewhere else.”

The Eagles offer an opportunity, if he plays to his draft status (which he didn’t in Chicago). Their line has been a mess ever since left tackle Jason Peters was lost to an Achilles tear, rolling Demetress Bell and King Dunlap with mixed results (at best).

Williams started 38 games for the Bears, but most of them ended up at guard, so it will be interesting to see if he can regain his footing for a team that could use the help.
