The Pittsburgh Steelers showed off a new look during practice Monday, with Ben Roethlisberger wearing a neon green cover atop his black helmet. He wasn't trying to establish a new style trend for NFL quarterbacks, but rather was looking to stay healthy.

You threw an underhand pitch and he knocked it out of the park, what else can you expect. :sofunny:

I woulda said it if he hadn't beat me to it.

A neon green helmet cover, that sounds rather :yikes:
I think I would rather wear a Red "Don't touch the QB" Jersey instead.

As long as he can throw a football.......that's all that matters.

can we drop the whole Motorcycle Helmet b.s. for a day? It's over and in the past... leave a dead dog lie already... but i do agree on the whole red shirt idea... looks less ridiculous...

I think the most important issue is why the helmet is labelled as 'neon green' when in fact neon glows a reddish colour in an electrical discharge.

Thats what bothered me most anyway...well that and how much Ben resembled King Of The Pea People.

Perhaps we should settle on calling it "chartreuse." :sofunny:

Lets just be thankful that we are discussing Ben's helmet modifications in camp instead of intensive brain injury rehab.

Amen to that!

I think Ben looks rather cute w/his lil green helmet. Just like a lil leprechaun...(lol). Let's hope the luck of the Irish is w/Ben and the rest of our beloved team this coming year.

Personally Ben can wear just a pink thong if he wanted just as long he remains untouched during practice.

I love it - - it made me giggle, and it is exciting to see that the team has both a playful and businesslike attitude on the field during camp..... If it is working, don't knock it.....

I heard today that Ben is very superstitious so he took off his neon green beanie. Immediately thereafter, he threw a pass which Troy intercepted. The fans at camp went nuts cheering on Troy.
