Wow
When is the last time a professional team did that? .... fly in to town, day of game?

Well, that's one way to shake up our travel routine. :chuckle:

Yea usually the visiting team is required to be there 24hrs before the game... So is this an advantage or not?

well, they get to sleep at home another night - then take a 1hr plane ride, but you know how they hate changes in their routine

maybe this will piss them off as much as having to wear those throwbacks and come out fired up

I gotta believe living in NY right now after Sandy is way more disruptive to one's routine than having to fly an hour on the morning of a game on a charter plane.

Team official said once hotel they'd planned to stay at Saturday closed due to power loss, "we decided we just didn't feel right about asking employees at [the open] hotels to start making a bunch of extra efforts to accommodate us, when so many of them are having issues themselves. There are a lot of very difficult things going on for a lot of people in that area; us having to fly in and out on the same day as a football game is no hardship in comparison."

Which is why The Rooneys are so great.

Conversely, Jerry Jones called Bloomberg & asked for a penthouse to be fixed up for him, just in case he wants to see "Cats" for the fourteenth time. What a douche.

Will Late Arrival Hurt Steelers?

Teams traveling to the away stadium in the NFL are, by rule, supposed to arrive at least the day prior to the game This Sunday the Steelers will be showing up just mere hours before game time. The Steelers were meant to stay at a hotel in Jersey the night prior and then head to MetLife Stadium. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many parts of New Jersey and NYC are just devastated. The team has decided, and subsequently granted by the NFL, to not burden those who are trying to recover from the hurricane and spend the night in the ‘Burgh before heading to Jersey. The Steelers will arrive in time to have a pre-game meal and then off to warmups at MetLife.

Certainly a good will move by the Steelers and the NFL by allowing them to remain in Pittsburgh only mere hours before kickoff. However, will this hurt the team in any way – whether it be physical, mental or emotional preparedness?

I think this might actually be a benefit. Allow them to take a pseudo home game routine. Most games are 1 pm starts, so with the 4:25 start the Steelers won't be hangin around a hotel all day. I think this will allow more time to focus on the game rather than the surroundings.

Jerry Jones, Kim Kardashian - what's the difference? Both ***** themselves to the media.
