‘We the People’ Petitions Filed in Nineteen States Seeking Permission to Secede from the Union

In the aftermath of last week's presidential election, residents in at least nineteen states have put up petitions on the government's "We the People" petitioning website seeking the right to secede from the rest of the country (http://redalertpolitics.com/2012/11/10/southern-states-issue-white-house-petition-asking-permission-to-secede-from-the-union/).
While the petitions themselves may not be significant, the reaction could be.
Petitions for secession filed from Louisiana (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-state-louisiana-withdraw-united-states-america-and-create-its-own-new-government/1wrvtngl) and Texas (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-state-texas-withdraw-united-states-america-and-create-its-own-new-government/BmdWCP8B) have already received well over 10,000 signatures. Per the website's own rules, petitions that garner 25,000 signatures or more within 30 days require a response from the Obama administration (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/how-why/introduction).
Similar petitions from Alabama (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-state-alabama-withdraw-united-states-america-and-create-its-own-new-government/2TvhJSSC), Tennessee (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-state-tennessee-withdraw-united-states-america-and-create-its-own-new-government/7xsNwkJ8), and, interestingly, Oregon (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/allow-oregon-vote-and-leave-union-peacefully-and-remain-ally-nation/X3kWX8kF), are also gaining traction, with each receiving thousands of supporters over the weekend alone.
Other states in which residents have expressed an interest in going their own way include (http://www.examiner.com/node/55260561) Kentucky, Montana, North Dakota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Missouri.
As unilateral secession was ruled unconstitutional (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secession_in_the_United_States) by the Supreme Court, it remains to be seen if this movement is more than a toothless temper tantrum thrown by armchair revolutionaries.

Perry: Texas Will Not Secede From US

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has one message for the tens of thousands of Texans calling for secession from the United States: The state will not secede.

At least for now:coffee:

I bet they want to secede, but keep all Federal funding and subsidies.

It's on the constitution that no state can secede from the union. But it's good entertainment though... I'd like to add these people are a lil crazy...

I wouldn't put too much stock into the numbers they are quoting. Technically, 13,500 people alone could push the signature number up to 675,000. Each person can vote on each states petition (some states have doubles and triples). And then there are those who can change their IP addresses to create multiple accounts. Who knows what the actual number is. All I know is that from the ones I've looked at, 1/2 to 3/4 of the people signing aren't even from that state.

then shoot the meheegan gringo's when they try to sneak back over the new border ....especially anyone named bush or jones...:chuckle:

Meanwhile, residents of Austin (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/peacefully-grant-city-austin-texas-withdraw-state-texas-remain-part-united-states/TDD212hQ), Texas' stubbornly liberal stronghold, have petitioned the White House to allow the city to "withdraw from the state of Texas [and] remain part of the United States."
Of course, the petitions are little more than symbolic—and nothing new. Similar petitions were filed after the 2004 and 2008 elections. And at least one petition (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/strip-citizenship-everyone-who-signed-petition-secede-and-exile-them/ZbMjcwPf) filed on the site asks that the president sign an executive order to strip U.S. citizenship from anyone who signed a petition to secede and requests that they are "peacefully deported."

This revelation could be the tipping point that causes Georgia to secede

President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as "Delphi" to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That's according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month....

About 23 minutes into the briefing, Searcy explained how President Obama, aided by liberal organizations like the Center for American Progress and business groups like local chambers of commerce, are secretly using mind-control techniques to push their plan for forcible relocation on the gullible public:

They do that by a process known as the Delphi technique. The Delphi technique was developed by the Rand Corporation during the Cold War as a mind-control technique. It's also known as "consensive process." But basically the goal of the Delphi technique is to lead a targeted group of people to a pre-determined outcome while keeping the illusion of being open to public input.

How perilous is the situation? Here's a slide from the presentation comparing Obama's record to that of Mao and Stalin:

Hopefully it is not too late to secede before the master plan is implemented

And I thought this was his mind control method.

Their big projects are letting folks secede from the public school system ( we passed a "charter school" constitutional amendment last week) and allowing suburban "cities" to secede from metro Atlanta counties that are majority black, but are otherwise mostly entertainment - they tried to "reform" the tax code several years ago by lowering marginal rates and limiting "loopholes" (sound familiar?) but when the word got out it was a tax increase for most everyone between $75K and $150K in income and a cut for most everyone above that income they backed down

Some say if you took metro Atlanta out of Georgia you would be left with Mississippi but I think that is an insult to Mississippi
