Another bad week for officiating and replay.
I realize we lost because of inept QB play and turnovers, but it would have been nice to try one more shot from inside Browns territory with over 2 minutes to go. But because of a faulty replay system, we don't get that chance. Isn't replay to ultimately get the call right. Then why don't the rules allow that. With the game on the line, the refs are still in a position to cost a team the game.

They are reconsidering the rule that cost the Lions the game on Thanksgiving.
I've heard people argue that the Lions coach knew the rule and messed up by throwing the challenge flag, but that's kind of like saying it's OK for the refs to f*** up but not the coaches. I mean, his elbow was down, his knee was down. It really wasn't even close. So they can blatantly blow a call forcing a spontaneous over reaction from the coach.

The Ravens are gifted a 4th and 29 when they picked up 28 yards. Inside 2 minutes, game would have been over. A bad spot and then even a bad respot after review extends the game and the Ravens tie it and win it in OT.

All of these calls were game deciding bad calls this week.

Wah Wah Wah.

Man, for having such a tough football team, so many of you fans are a bunch of whinning *****s. Try winning decisively for a change so tthere are no excuses.

Why did you burn all of your timeouts? Second week in a row. Poor game management .

What did Tomlin say? "Excuses are tools of the incompetent."

Rice made the yardage needed.

Pot, meet Kettle.

I assumed he was talking to his fellow Ravens fans.

What do you propose? At least in the Ravens-Chargers contest, replay worked exactly as it was designed.

U might want to watch that replay. If you mean he made the yardage the refs required you're right. If you say he made it to the 34 yard line, which is where the 1st down marker was, you're wrong.

I honestly think they should get rid of instant replay. All it's done is invite people to argue about every play. They've never gotten everything right, and they never will.

I dont think it was poor management taking all 3 TO's. You want to get the ball back with as much time as possible, they were successful with that.

I'd propose common sense by the replay official. If his knee was short of the 35 and his knee to the top of his thigh is straight up, then is it logical that from his belt to his chest is more than 4 feet long. Since the final mark was inside the 34, it's impossible that the spot was correct.

If you watch the slow mo, the defenders knee is right beside the ball as the knee is down and the ball is barely over the 35. No where near being inside the 34.

I clearly stated why we lost. Also, used 2 other examples that all happened this week as to why the replay system is broke.

Yeah right get glasses my friend. The replay they showed over and over again for 5 minutes clearly showed #20 Antwon Cason knee in front of the ball and his knee was just barely inches inside the 35, So to respot at the 33 1/2 is ludicrous. Enjoy your tainted win and well see who is trolling our forums when that bum of yours Flacco goes down.

I don't think I want the NFL refs trying to reason stuff out. Better by far to just have them call what they can see. If they can't see it, leave it alone.

well they tried to reason it, because it took 10 minutes and they still F'd it up. The dumbasses had already moved the chains, when clearly inside of 2 minutes that was going to be reviewed.

Who cares at this point where they spotted the ball. It was an amazing effort by Ray Rice, and a HORRIBLE PISS POOR effort by the Chargers. 4th and 29 and you let them get the 1st down, or even near it? Pathetic.

I generally agree with you OP. If they are going to have a replay review, they should make it so that they get the call correct.

The issue lies in how you fix the problem. What do you suggest they do to fix it? I can't see many ways other than adding tons of cameras to the stadium so that they have more angles to review the plays.

I'm in favor of doing away with all review and challenges. Yes, refs make mistakes...it happens. Replay, though, has become a crutch for bitching and whining. Remove reviews, fine refs who consistently blow calls, and if it doesn't go your teams way, you suck it up and move on.

Some of the BS calls after the replays makes me wonder if someone is pocketing some cash on the side.
