Not being aired here in North MS (believe Cowboys and Bengals on), but surprised Nantz and Simms working this game after last weeks contest. Steelers big draw on most the time, but against the Chargers did not see CBS running their #1 commentators out. All that said I expect a good game at least form the close score point, I see no blowout from our team or vice versa, this Charger team put up a 24 point halftime lead on the Broncos and then managed to blow it. Depends which half shows up today and we are notorious to play up or down to our opponents. But with as much on the line and people getting healthy I see us pulling a win out. Now I am trying to prepare some of you for the anxiety of this contest so we do not have so many "sky is falling" comments during this game. I was on here the last three weeks and it is pretty intense to say the least during close games when everything is not going the good guys way.

CBS very solemn in first 10 minutes of pregame as Sharpe and JB boldly oppose DWI and domestic violence - after the commercial break back to the fun & games

My guess is the official sad faces for the first 10 minutes were due to this rip job after CBS had the usual chucklehead opening after the KC murder-suicide last week

We live in a Bayless-ian age of hyperbole where can-you-top-this snap judgments are delivered for maximum viewership and page views. So I want readers to know the following sentence was considered with deliberation and thought:

CBS's The NFL Today show disgraced itself on Sunday.

I thought the rule of thumb was if the ball was going to bounce inside the 10, you let it go and try for the touchback.

Fair catching at the 7 doesnt seem smart, but maybe thats the way to play it these days.

our RBs are setting up like 20 yds behind the line of scrimmage. Redman had run for almost 10 yds before he even got to the line. Plenty of time for the SD defense to come all the way into the backfield, have a Coke, make a phone call and wait on Redman to run right into them. It just seems way too deep for line up.

SteelersCanada
12-09-2012, 01:18 PM
We should use Will Johnson on those kind of plays. He's big and strong enough to just drive forward to get a yard.

Also upset that Redman is dressed over Mendenhall. Redman has had his share of fumble issues as well.

sometimes you just got to calm the F down and stop giving free 5 yarders and 1st downs. Work so hard to get them in 3rd and 9 then simply say "here is a free 1st down because we are spazzing out on our side of the ball." Got to be smarter than that.

PIT RBs line up so far back that you can watch the hole open up and then close BEFORE the RB can even make it up there.

I mean Dwyer simply just ran right into the only Charger defender he could run into on that run. I guess he was winded from running so far from where he lined up.

That was PI on the Chargers right there. He was all over Heath.

Chargers D has zero respect for the Steelers passing game. They are selling out at the line of scrimmage. Ben can't make the quick read and throw. He's falling back into his old habit of holding onto the ball.

Yeah - and he's going to get seriously injured too. They're trying to hit him REALLY hard out there.

UUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Okay, let's punt it to our own 40 again and hope they can't score...getting real fucking tired of it.

Do they know what an effing screen pass is to slow that crap down?

Yeah, your superbowl for the year.

You didn't see a gatorade bath, did you? We know how to win championships, unlike the Ravens.

Until you beat us in the playoffs, shut the fuck up. Thanks.

The Steelers are totally getting outschemed by the Chargers coaching staff. Doug Legursky didn't block anyone that 3rd down play.

Ben has to see that blitz and check down. Antonio was open over the middle on a 5 yard route that could have gone for more.

Somebody needs to get on Twitter and wear out Simms. He will eventually see it. Simms is fast becoming a POS. I just dont get why he is so in love with SD.

Is Phil in love with Norv Turner or something?

Maybe bring Doug back in at Center & move Pouncy back out!

Why the hell is wrong with our offense? I can't figure out if it's the offense players sucking or if it's the offensive coordinators fault.

Shill Simms is an honorary Charger, I guess?

THREE 3 and outs in a row. UN-real.

Blame it on the OL. Our QB has zero time to do anything.

We don't have any RBs in that are fast enough to make the edge. Except maybe Rainey, but last time he tried that he almost got killed.

Disagree. Dwyer can get to the edge. He's not gonna take it to the house, but he can get 6-7 yards. Somehow we have to open up the running lanes up the middle, and it's obvious it's not gonna happen due to our superior blocking.

once again - we can't force fumbles or get INT's.
Watching closely again. We're "tackling", But not trying to "strip"

Guess we won't have the chance this year, just like last when you were upstaged by Tebow with injury prone Ben. Cmon don't let you win against us create a letdown against the Chargers. Get busy.
