Hey All,

I just remembered that I did not post my return yet.

In Mississippi I did find a home, and after almost a full day of going back and forth, the seller and I came to terms. I found a nice 3br/2ba home in Diamondhead with a view of the golf course lakes. It will take a small amount of work and a lot of elbow grease, but it will be where I wish it to be in short order.

Coastal Mississippi is still reeling from the devastation along the coast. The town of Waveland ran it's city government and Law Enforcement from tents and temporary buildings....almost a year after Katrina.

The return flight was a nightmare however. Canceled flights (sat at the airport for 6hrs before they finally decided to cancel), hellacious security lines (which I do not mind, if it interprets to a safe arrival), lost luggage.....it seems as though everything that could happen, did happen.

But in the end, it was a successful trip.........................I'm just glad to be done with it.

I'm glad to be back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone.

I should close early September. But i do not leave San Diego until early November and not get there until December. I'm going to see a few sights heading over to Texas for a visit, with Thanksgiving and Deer Hunting in West Virginia...then the move-in starts.

Its great to have you back Shooter - you're a real credit to this forum.

I hope everything works out with your new home - there aren't many things in this world more satisfying than building your own home from the roots up.

I have spent the last 18 months doing just that to my property here in the UK - you're right - its alot of elbow grease - but its very worth it.

LMAO! Too funny Bro...

That's where the family is from, the Houston area. I tell you, I am impressed with the fan base there. With the Texans not having anything going for them yet, their fans (including some family members...unfortunately) are fairly dedicated.

But I'll lay off of them. Probably going to chase a few ducks in Texas....Deer in West Virginia.

You are spot on LITP. The pride of ownership is already sinking in. And the plans I have for the house are already getting lengthy. It worked to my advantage as well. I did not want the current owner to replace the carpets or repaint the interior as he planned. But rather, I took an allowance. I plan on installing wood floors through most rooms, and I can paint the interior for a fraction of what he would spend on a contractor....and get the colors/shades I want. I'm really looking forward to this.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
