I would love to see Steven Jackson get signed. He's 29 so this will be his last contract he signs he wants to go to a superbowl contender. I say sign him three years and hope he stays healthy

Wow, he's only 29? I thought he was much older. As much as I like him as a back, I think he might have too many miles.

You guys are missing the boat on the greatest free agent on the market today.... "former RB". He's looking for a new team now and could bring some seriously needed thuggishness to this team of choir boys.

I hope he renames himself "former SFP (Steelers Fever Poster)", a la He Hate Me. I'd buy that jersey. It comes in Kevlar. :chuckle:

Who wants to bet the Patriots will pick him up before we would even consider?

Deangelo Williams, only 27, very high career avg, few miles on the clock too. Is being completely wasted in Carolina.

I'm a huge Cam Newton fan so I've seen most Panthers games this year and I can tell you with complete confidence that DeAngelo Williams is one of the most overrated running backs in the NFL. Picture Mendenhall, only with the stamina and will of Jonathan Dwyer. He's not a good running back and wouldn't do well here.

edit - I wouldn't mind giving Reggie Bush a shot assuming he doesn't ask for top dollar.

Lagarrente Blount, no WAY he stays in Tampa. Give him the dough!

Why not? We took Bettis from the Rams, why not take Jackson? Run the wheels off of him like we did Willie Parker, lol.

I love the way he runs, but if people here think Mendy fumbles too much, you guys are REALLY gonna hate that guy. In 2 seasons he has as many fumbles as mendenhall had in 5 seasons

we really just need someone that takes pride in their work, is a professional, and is focused on every aspect of being a complete RB. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have a little

MAKE EM SAY UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'd say if we don't need to break the bank for blount, sure, sign him. Fumbles can be fixed. I like his style of running though I have to admit, he runs freakin hard. kinda reminds me of gary brown for the oilers way back

I completely disagree, he's being wasted in Carolina.

I completely disagree, he's being wasted in Carolina.

He has potential, but he has 120 carries for 415 yards. That equals out to roughly 3 YPC which isn't a big step up from Dwyer. His asking price is going to be that of a top flight running back and he just hasn't proven it since they have had Cam at the helm. I agree the playcalling has set back both DeAngelo and Cam, but franchise running backs make something-outta-nothing, and he hasn't shown he can do that. :noidea: Just my opinion.

You're probably right. They should easily be able to nab him with one of their 11 first round picks.

I guess we could hold our noses and settle for a lesser talent like Steven Jackson or Brandon Jacobs. :hunch:
