Who cares? This game is meaningless and a win would hurt our draft pick.

I guess I love my Steelers moreso than other fans, because honestly, I couldn't see myself NOT watching this game, or ANY Steelers game for that matter.

A season is too damn short, and i'll regret waiting until September to even get a peek at our squad again. There isn't a "meaningless" Steelers game in my eyes, so i'll definitely be tuning in on Sunday.

As for Heath and Ike: David Paulson, Cortez Allen. Two players i'm REALLY excited to see take the bigger roles this Sunday. I just hope our team plays with a little heart.

We'll miss out on the next Revis just so some fans don't get their wittle feelings hurt? tank it - we need a loss

If the "fans" kept their mouths shut last year maybe we'd be 12-4 again and still have Arians.

Browns packing it up

Cleveland Browns Could Start Thaddeus Lewis at QB Against Steelers

Brandon Weeden suffered a shoulder injury during the third quarter of last week's game against the Broncos and was replaced by Colt McCoy. As it turns out, McCoy also injured his shoulder in that game and is receiving treatment. Neither player has been ruled out for Sunday's finale against the Steelers, but Lewis took all of the first-team reps during Wednesday's practice.

The Browns aren't strangers to starting new quarterbacks in Week 17 against the Steelers. In 2008, they started Bruce Gradkowski and lost 31-0. With the long list of injuries to key players over the past 2-3 weeks, something like that can't be ruled out of the question.

RB Trent Richardson is banged up after suffering an ankle injury at the end of last week's game. S Usama Young was placed on injured reserve for a thumb injury that will require surgery.

Perhaps the shining light is the fact that the Steelers are also in a gloomy mood. They were just eliminated from playoff contention, Ben Roethlisberger is playing terrible, and several players, including CB Ike Taylor, were placed on injured reserve.

Whoever starts at quarterback on Sunday, whether it be Weeden, McCoy, or Lewis, hopefully they can have a solid game to help Cleveland sweep Pittsburgh for the first time in the post-1999 era.

Hey man. I am the biggest fan. I have a license plate that says Pittsburgh Steelers #1 fan. So I guess it must be true. I always want them to win but this game is so anticlimactic that I don't know if I care any more. The past 6 weeks have been excruciating. It is hard to get excited for a meaningless game unless it is one leading into the playoffs because we have the #1 seed sown up. Guess I have to turn in my license plate.

The question is can we tank harder than the Browns. Browns are 5-10 a loss for them could lock up a top 5 pick. We are going to have to be at our absolute worst on all levels. The standard is the standard and every man has to play well below it. This is going to require a complete team effort. No blade of grass can be defended. We need to be dead indians in Cleveland's cowboy movie. No excuses.

I will be watching our beloved Steelers @ 1:00 PM on CBS, and I will be wholeheartedly cheering them on. I do not want the Browns sweeping us! If it's brown, flush it down! :tt:

I know it does not mean anything to anyone as far as playoffs, standings, or financial gain. But I have too much pride to just quit, and I hope my team has the same attitude. If we lose a hard fought fair game than so be it, but to "tank" a game makes me sick to my stomach. There is such a thing known as KARMA. If there wasn't how do you explain the Terrible Towel curse?

At this point Cleveland is a better team. Heath was the only guy on the field that was capable of holding on to the ball, sad but true

screw that, you can't get swept by the browns, this season would be near an alltime low to lose twice to them.

ive been following the steelers since 1990 and don't think ive ever seen that happen, and hope i never do

and i certainly hope the coaches/team aren't mailing it in. sends a shitty message to the players and organization by telling them it's ok to lose. it never is good to just accept defeat no matter what the draft implications are. the steelers have a tradition of winning, and i hope they go down swinging this season

All Haley did was help the Steelers go 7-8.

Bad decision. Bad fit. Idiotic reasoning.

I understand not wanting us to lose. I can't really say I "want" us to lose, but at this point the only good thing that can come from this season is a relatively high draft pick, I don't really want to throw that chance away, especially since we're in that pool of 7-8, 8-7 teams where a win will put you in the 20's and loss could put you as high as 12-14.

And part of me will be pissed if this team shits the bed for 3 straight weeks and then shows up to play when it doesn't matter anymore. You couldn't win a single fucking game when it counted, don't come out and show some bullshit "heart" in the last game and act like you stuck through it to the end and put a positive spin on things. And I have a bad feeling that is exactly what is going to happen.

Its not the game its the season. Remember in 2005 when we knocked the bungles out of the playoffs the last regular season game? That was fun to watch and although the team didnt make the playoffs that season, it was because they just no longer had the tools. It wasnt from just PLAIN BEING BAD.

Im not going to watch this team lose to the browns. And i dont blame any fan who does the same.

This. If they want to play for pride let the damn back ups play. After this season i think they are the only ones that have any.

This could be a game of more than 8 turnovers, imagine if both teams were told to throw the game just for better draft picks.

Could end up a 0-0 tie.

People can talk all of the crap that they want about "tanking" the season for higher draft picks, but the bottom line is it will not happen. I don't believe there's a player or coach in the Steelers locker room saying to themselves "we're going to go out there and let the Brownstains win so we can draft someone who could potentially take my roster spot". I know it's been a pretty crappy season for the Steelers, but I believe the players on this team have a lot of pride and they are competitors, and I don't believe that they will purposely go out and lay down and die for anyone. That's not the Steelers that I've known and loved for the the past 30+ years. If we lose, we lose, so be it. But if we win, I don't see how that's a bad thing. We've managed to build a pretty consistently good football team throughout the years while drafting in the bottom half of the draft all of these years. Go Steelers!

Well said! If you are going to tank, a good way to begin is to start your 3rd string QB.

Exactly! Couldn't agree more. Especially when the "heart" in the last game would be shown by a victory over the 5-10 Browns with a 3rd string QB.
