Limas Sweed looked better. This year's draft is going to be to stock up on the defensive side of the ball. S, NT and LB all need addressing.

They should keep Wallace and keep Mendenhall if possible.

No need to waste draft picks when those guys are adequate.

Bendthenfall should NEVER be used in the same sentance with "adequate".

Sorry. Should I change it to "beasts"?

No need to waste draft pick when those guys are BEASTS SENT FROM THE FIERY DEPTHS TO UNLEASH HELL ON THE GRIDIRON IN BIBLICAL FASHION!!!

Both of those guys are almost surely gone. Very little chance they return, certainly not both of them. Time to look ahead.
But i agree anyway - those defensive positions are absolutely going to be looked at first - especially considering our age & huge contracts

That kid is a brilliant open field runner. I'm not sure that there is a pressing need for another skill guy on the offense though in the early rounds.

Good vid though. He is an impressive talent. Saw him going in the first in some mocks. That is way too high right now.

it would be great if it were the 2008 draft:chuckle:

I have to agree with others, no doubt though - I really liked what I saw in this video - extremely, extremely athletic and physical for such an open field guy - seems he's got some serious frame along with that speed

He's fast and very talented in open space. He has a knack for getting open with his speed, but doesn't run crisp routes and struggles when he's being double covered. If he's able to get open, though, he's going to make the catch and take it to the house.

Who does that remind you of?

i was never a Mendenhall fan but our line has a lot to do with him not tearing it up on the field. Peterson is the best back in the NFL yet if anyone watched his last game were he broke 2000 yards you can see that he almost always gets past the first line untouched. i have seen teame completly shut him down as well. what i am saying is if Peterson played for the Steelers he wouldnt be doing anywere close to the damage he has done with the Vikings. our line should be much improved next season and i would like to keep Mendy and see what he can do behind an improved offensive line.
if we can also sign Wallace for somewere around the same amount we Signed Brown for then we can draft all defense unless a good TE fell to us. we have a ton of needs with Kiesel, Hampton, Troy, Clark, Harison and Taylor all leaving this season or next. we really cant afford to draft a high rb and wr.

I would consider him if he were there in the second and there were no other safeties or linebackers that stood out at our pick...he does look like he could be the top receiver we lack, he has size and speed...but definitely not in the first, where he'll probably go. Not because he's not worth a first, but because we have too many other needs and COULD get by with just Brown and Sanders.

so, actually keeping both Mendy and Wallace is likely? Or, do you think just one of them will go? If so - which one should. I'd take Mendy over Wallace as crazy as that might sound. I think the RB position is a little more dire.

I'm actually liking Ryan Swope from Texas A&M in the 3rd. Say bye to Wallace, go forward with Brown, Sanders, Swope, Tony Clemons and maybe Cotchery or Burress to round out the 5. Healthy Heath Miller and David Paulson can contribute too in the receiving game.

They definately need to draft a wr. I can't believe the Steelers want anything to do with Wallace. My only concerns are that Brown and Sanders were not that great either. This kid in the video does look good

Antonio Brown?

Brown runs very good routes but Mikey doesn't. He reminds me a lot of Mike in a lot of different ways and considering the way Mike is getting crucified on these boards I'm not sure why there's such positive feedback for him.

I personally like him and think we should take him in the second round, but a lot of you guys are getting excited at having a Mike Wallace-type prospect but aren't keen on keeping Wallace around. I need someone to explain that to me.

Mike is a terrible open field runner. If he can make one cut and then straight, he's your guy but when it comes to shiftiness and elusiveness he's nowhere near the talent level of Brown and the kid in the video. What the hell is that kids name anyway?

He's great in the open field. He's fast and can make guys miss. Remember the 10 yard dumpoff that Mike turned into a 51 yard touchdown using just his speed and his ability to make guys miss? That's the kind of talent he brings, but he rarely gets the chance to show it.

I agree that Brown is probably at this point a more reliable receiver, but to call him better might be a bit of a stretch.

His name is a little tough to remember - Cordarrelle Patterson but you can just call him Cordy. Easier to remember.

We don't need to draft another receiver.

Is there another vid of his drops and bad routes?

The #1 in red that Patterson keeps abusing is David Amerson the cornerback from North Carolina State who Patterson beat like a rented mule in his first collegiate game...Tennessee even lined him up in the backfield on a few occasions and just pitched him the ball...He's 6''3 and 210 lbs...The kid can fly and is a different type runner than Wallace...While Wallace just blows by you, this kid will stop, start and cut on a dime and it he ever gets a step on you he can take it to the house. :tt04:
