The missed PI calls are unreal so far.

Also, this right here is 'dink and dunk' done right. High pace, 8 - 12 yard throws every time and the occasional down field throw to a speedy WR. Haley should implement this kind of system here rather than the 4 - 5 yard dumpoffs and ineffective run game.

Manning would be the biggest playoff choker if the 2006 Bears had a QB instead of Rex Grossman. Manning is just horrible in the playoffs.

Oh and he's clearly not the same QB anymore. He cannot throw the ball down field on a good defense anymore he's just not strong enough.

That last pick look like your typical Farve bad throw.

Yep - this from Sports Guy Bill Simmons yesterday

Ravens (+10) over BRONCOS

Too many points. I keep staring at this game thinking, Wait a second, the Ravens have a chance. Worst-case scenario: Manning comes out firing, Flacco gets the Joe Flacco Face going and I end up feeling like a moron by the second quarter. Believe me. But I have a weird feeling about this game. Can't explain it. Even called Mike Lombardi this morning just to make sure, leading to this exchange.

Me: "Am I crazy or can the Ravens win this game?"
Lombardi: "You are NOT crazy."

I don't think I'm crazy. I don't think I'm crazy. I don't think I'm crazy. I don't think I'm crazy.

LaVar Arrington does the WaPo's Sports Section pick em. He picked the Ravens too. Didn't explain why. Anyhow, while it was an upset win and I did have the Broncos winning convincingly, the Ravens winning isn't too much of a shock since I think they are that much a better team when they have Lewis playing. The manner in which they did was a shock. I really thought they were down for the count after Denver punted after the 2 Minute warning. I mean no timeouts and Flacco hasn't exactly been Joe Montana or John Elway in situations like this in teh past.

So everyone understandably thinks the Pats-Houston game is a formality at this point. Hate to agree but would love to be proven wrong. Question for our Ravens fans though. Who would you rather play? Houston beat you bad but so did these Broncos. You beat Brady but the Pats are famously tough to beat twice in a season too. Sounds like the ultimate Catch-22. I'd probably prefer the Texans though since Schaub isn't anywhere near the big game QB that Brady is.

Hi, my preference would be the Texans... But we'll see..

Yeah that would be mine too if the Steelers were in your situation. I hope that game is as good as this one was. Need some good football. Blowouts are boring unless you're team is on the winning side of one.

I'm a Dallas fan, but I'm not the world's biggest fan of Baltimore either.(especially after their win at Dallas's TX Stadium finale in 2008, and the nailbiter this year against them as well)

With that being said, looks like we've seen this before - a WC team coming out of nowhere by getting hot at the right time. Give Baltimore credit.

Peyton wasn't the reason the Broncos lost(at least not completely) - the Broncos D gave up over 500 yards on D, which is just as inexcusable.

I know you're right. I just hope we can play this good next week. It was very hard and you could see the Ravens defense was tiring. But all the way through it was a excellent game. I know you guys will be back strong next year with Ben fully healed and ready. :)

Peyton seemed off somewhat tonight, no long throws down the field and not taking many chances when he should have..

For years and years the team with the bye won 80% of the time. It was not only almost a guarantee, but they would win by at least double digits.

In recent years? Nope, the playing field seems to be evened out a bit. And it seems to be a common trend in recent years at least 2 of the bye teams in the divisional round go down.

The Ravens aren't beating Tom in his house of pain now. The Texans have a better overall team and are arguably better in every single facet of the game, positionally than the Ravens. The Pats are going to win tomorrow, big. So, the Ravens are going against the Pats in Tom's house and are going to get embarrassed. I'm really looking forward to Ray Lewis crying again next week, but only because his career is over at the hands of the Patriots.

They're not going against Eric Decker, Thomas and Tamme next week. Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Lloyd, Branch and Tom.

Every Ravens fan is going to bring up the fact that they beat them earlier this season, but the Patriots don't lose in their house this time of year - they just don't. Sorry, Ravens fans, the AFC Title game is where John Harbaugh's career will ultimately peak. He'll be the next Andy Reid - 4 AFC title games, no Super Bowl victories and eventually washed up and coaching the Chiefs.

S'ok, we all know it's coming.

The Pats may have blown out the Texans last time, but the Texans had a number of critical errors(including penalties early in the game) that costed them.

Now if they can clean up their mistakes from last time, and Wade Phillips making the proper adjustments on D, it could be a different outcome.

BTW - what is it with all of these top seeded teams in all of professional sports making early exits in the playoffs? No, not all of them, but a surprising number of them every year.

Wade Phillips got alot of flack when Dallas the #1 seed in 2007 looked flat against the Giants. But since then, a number of teams have followed the same. Last I checked, Bill Belichick, Jeff Fisher, and Mike McCarthey aren't exactly Wade Phillips.

This is the coach that beat us last year?

First, not throwing for it on 3rd-and-7 despite having a future first ballot Hall of Famer as your quarterback. Then, kneeling it down with said Hall of Fame quarterback to play for overtime. I'm still in shock at those two calls, but I'm cheering for a Packers / Pats Super Bowl now.

Ben can't outduel Tim Tebow and Tomlin once again has his team ill-prepared.

I would rather see the Ravens play the Texans. The Texans are weaker than when we last played them. The Ravens stronger. Plus, Houston better place to play IMHO.

However, after tonight's game, I think we can beat either team.

Did you think the Ravens would win tonight? Have any chance at all?

BTW: The Ravens lost in NE last year-due to a dropped TD and missed FG. Those were the differences in that game. Flacco beat Brady. Both Lee Evans and Billy Cundiff are gone. Brady will be the one crying on Monday--sorry to disagree.

Yep. Flacco outplayed Golden Boy by quite a bit last year. Not his fault that Lee Evans couldn't hold onto a pass that he put right in his hands and that Cundiff sucks. The Patriots have won as many postseason games by dumb luck as anything else (Tuck Rule, John Kasay giving it to them on the 40-yard line after booting a kickoff out of bounds, the "hot potato" play against San Diego in 2006, etc., etc.). It's the ESPN talking heads who suck their dick 24/7 who have built them up into this "unstoppable juggernaut."

Don't believe the hype.

Yes Baltimore played well.

Yes Peyton played so-so.

But most of all, that _enver D during that 70-yd bomb to Jones was, as comic book guy would say, the WORST. DE-FENSE. EV-ER.

I thought the Broncos were going to win, but I didn't think it was going to be a blowout.

Regarding last year, do you know what they call almost winning? The Ravens' secondary without Webb is bad and Cary Williams isn't going to be able to cover Gronk or Welker, whomever Harbaugh decides is a great fit for him.

The Pats started the year off slow but are now the best team in football and I'm sorry, Ray Lewis is playing like absolute shit but is being praised by the media because it's his 'last ride'? No, fuck that. I'm going to call a spade a spade here - he's making tackles 8 yards down field and getting praised for doing so. If our Linebackers were making tackles 8 yards down field we'd be discussing a serious problem that our defense has.

I'd love to see Flacco head into Foxboro and win in the playoffs. I'd also love to win the lottery tomorrow, but let's shit in one hand and wish in the other.

The Broncos #2 Defense sure played like number 2 throughout the entire game. Manning's three turnovers sure didn't help their cause either. Trindon Holliday seemed to be the only Bronco that wasn't sleepwalking throughout the entire game.

Look, I think the Pats are certainly going to be favored over the Ravens. But, I think the Broncos are a better team than the Pats.

I discount the Ravens win over the Pats earlier this year. Replacement refs-in Baltimore etc. (I do think the the FG was good though.) It will be a great game.

My point is that its not going to be lopsided. I was surprised to be both AFC games have lines of 9 1/2.

I just cannot stand Brady or Bellichek. I would rather see the Steelers in the SB. Steelers are a legit smash mouth team.

This sums up the Pats and Brady....

Look for Wade Phillips to make adjustments on D for the Texans tomorrow. And I think the Texans will cut down on the mistakes as well(which hurt them in the previous game).

Not saying Houston will win, but it may not be a blowout like everyone thinks.

I just finished watching the game (NFL replay). I cannot stand The Ravens, however I have to give them credit where it's due. Flacco truly looked loose, confident, and poised throughout that game. Peyton Manning looked slightly awkward and unsure. Sadly, the Broncos defense simply choked. It was a very exciting game and I cannot rule out The Ravens to make it to the SB after seeing the way the entire team played this week.

I seriously do not understand this post-except to write it off as wishful thinking. Sure, the Ravens had a 3 game skid at the end. If they were still playing like that, I would be with you. But, they handily beat the Giants-true, a weaker Giants. But, they dominated the Colts THEN controlled the entire Broncos game. Take away the two special teams TD's and the Ravens lead the entire Broncos game.

The Texans barely beat the Bengals-in Houston last week. They are fading. Ravens already beat the Patriots this year. The game won't be easy for either team. But, to say the Ravens will be "killed" is just total BS and sour grapes.

Well this is classy:chuckle:

After the Broncos’ upset loss to the Ravens in Denver, Tebow’s older brother Peter, a minister in Colorado, sent out this tweet:

Peter Tebow@petertebow

Am I the only one in Denver who's happy right now?

Then, a few minutes later, Peter Tebow re-tweeted this quote: “That’s karma, Elway.”
