The rumor is that Boldin will be released for cap reasons. Would anyone besides me like to see AB in a Steelers' uniform next season?

He's 32 but I think he's got another 3 years in him and at that age, the price tag may not be too high.

Ben would thrive with a big-body receiver with hands like Boldin.

That would be great, but we cant even afford to sign anyone. we so poo we cant afford the R yo.

No, we need to get younger. Besides, I do not think he would play for the Steelers.

Nah, he's good but I'd rather get a receiver in the draft...

Boldin makes our recievers look a like a bunch of sissy's!!! He doesnt always have a perfect ball thrown to him from flacco, he just out battles the defenders more times than not. I would love to have him, or someone with his style of play who isnt afraid to go up and fight for the football!

Boldin was paid 7.5 million for catching 4 tds this regular season. He is an extremely overvalued player by people who have kneejerk responses to recent events in the NFL world. There is no way Boldin will ever be a Steeler. I am not surprised to see Steelers5895 and Maddog78 don't agree with me on yet another topic.

I had no idea what you thought on the subject, nor do I care.

How much did Antonio Brown make for catching 5 TDs? And since when don't postseason TDs count?

With the chemistry that he and Flacco has, they would be insane to let him walk. He made the San Fran corner who was covering him look like absolute garbage.

I hate threads that waste time debating the undebatable. Anquan Boldin's chances at being a Steeler has the same chance as every other huge name FA out there over the years of them being a Steeler. ZILCH.

negative nellie ...:shake01:.....i'd put it more at about .0000000000000092 chance of him being a steeler ...

Boldin isn't the only ratbird to hit the streets over the next two years..... as for the question at hand, the Steelers will be shopping for free agents this ofseason for sure, but will be shopping in the bargin basement.... don't expect them to land any blue chippers....

Drafting someone with the same skill set would be nice.

Can't sign anyone this year in free agency.

Pick DeAndre Hopkins/ Justin Hunter in the second round or Robert Woods in the third round.

Ben doesn't throw lob balls deep.

He'll never fit in Haley's Dink&Dunk

Boldin really stepped it up this playoff run. You could say without that great leap in production there was no way he earned the money they were paying him to that point. Throw in a dropped pass in the end zone against Pgh in the playoffs a few years back he really was inconsistant and not putting up numbers of a 7 million a year guy.

Besides Todd Haley and him had that famous argument in Arizona.

I get the rationale, but NO. Haley & Boldin once got into a screaming match; thus, he's not coming here.

If I were to signs Ravens free agent, it would be Paul Kruger.

Haley was doing the Dink and Dunk because the Oline was tissue paper...If Ben had better protection there would have been deeper throws...Haley isn't stupid

I don't understand how we're 15 million over the cap and people still have fantasies of the Steelers going outside of everything they've ever done to sign a big free agent with money that doesn't exist.

I don't like him but he's seriously underrated. Always overshadowed by Fitz in Arizona and because Flacco isn't the most accurate passer and the emergence of Smith in Baltimore he didn't put up the greatest numbers. If he took a low pay I'd do it in a second.

By Boldin you mean BOWE. I'd gladly take him if Wallace left.

That's over $21 million over the cap.......

And you are right, any FA we sign, and there will be more than a few, are going to come cheap or not at all.

We go through this salary cap hell every offseason. The capologists will figure it out.

This getting younger stuff has to stop somewhere. We will get younger in the draft, we've been getting MUCH younger on offense, yet we have no leadership or anybody that's reliable in the clutch. Hines Ward was truly missed this year, every time Brown or Sanders fumbled and every time Wallace dropped a pass that hit him in the hands I thought of how much better we would have been with the Hines Ward of just a few years ago. With as poor as our WR's performed, Ward may have been a better option even this year. Regardless, Boldin can fill that role now and there's no reason to avoid that because of a guy's age. We have enough under performing youngsters right now, so the thought of a veteran WR who is totally clutch and makes big plays should be welcomed. We most likely can't afford him, and i would be in favor of letting Burress go if we did get Boldin, but I would be willing to place a bet on the Steelers to win the SB next year, before the season even begins.

The real question is, why does every Steeler fan think we should pick this player up, that player up every time they are released...As some one stated earlier, we need young guns so they can be molded into our system. Older players are just looking for the final payday!
