That's needed to sign our draft picks

They have a lot of young, cheaper talent that is producing for them. Wait until some of these contracts come up for resigning, like Dalton and Green. That number can and will dwindle quickly. Its a matter of signing more young talent to offset some inevitable losses due to free agency and retirement. The Steelers in the past have done very well, but these last few drafts have had some very notable misses and more players that have either developed late in their contract (Lewis) or were sought after so much as to drive up prices that the Steelers either could not or would not match, (Wallace). Our biggest failure by the front office was to let the O-Line go too many years, depending on Bens ability to make plays from no protection and now that we have a few promising O-Line players they are only a few years away from contract talks.

Can the Steelers have the $36 million he helped rob the Redskins of?

If you told me before the season ended we would be under the cap at some point I'd been ecstatic.

Bengals fan: Our team has $33M in cap room AND we made the playoffs the last two years!
Steelers fan: Our team had eight Super Bowl appearances and six titles in 33 years.

Sure the Bengals have been playing with more urgency. How many Super Bowl Titles has that resulted in? 0. They lost to the 49ers in two of them.

Ill believe the Bengals are a better organization than us when they prove they are.

P.S. that article is hilarious lol.

Yeah, just wait until the rookie contracts of Andy Dalton, A.J. Green, and Geno Atkins expire.

Exactly!!!
Good players cost a lot of money.

Troy, Harrison, BB, Timmons, Ike... people are complaining NOW, but three years ago (when these players received these contracts), which ones would these fans have "let go"???

A: None of them... because, those players were all superstars. Having good players simply costs a lot. It's the "side-effect" of success.

The Chargers no longer have cap problems... because, they haven't drafted a Pro-Bowler in their last 37 draft picks.
