that's one way to go. With the possible loss of Sanders we might be looking for that ready-to-go WR early. I would go with Lemonier in the 2nd. I like the 3rd and 4th.

I too like Lemonier, Swearinger, Lattimore, but am not sold on taking a WR in the 1st round. Everybody that is a fan wants WR-RB to go with the QB, because that is what they play with most in Madden.

The 4 pillars of an NFL team are 1.Franchise QB, (we have) 2. Elite pass rusher (we dont have) 3. Blindside protector (we may have a good LT on the team already) 4. Elite CB (Ike is really getting old). I'd rather see us focus on a CB, so we dont have to rely on Cortez Allen being our best CB in 2 years.

you have a good point about the CB's. Letting Lewis go leads me to believe the team likes Cortez Allen, maybe he'll turn into that #1 CB.

I like what I saw in Allen too, but lets just say that Ike gets injured like he did last season......we are going to put Will I am Gay, Curtis Brown or Josh Victorian on the corner??

I`m a fan of Trufant or another CB in the 1st round, or somebody in the 2nd. As much as I love Ike Taylor, I think we should have let his $6million and $7million salary for the next 2 years walk, and looked at retaining Lewis.

letting Taylor walk would have been a tough call to make, might have been the correct way to go though. As far as who we draft, I'm not leaning to strongly one way or the other for the 1st. Trufant looks like he'd be a good pick plus we'd be able to trade back.

Wow.........it is so refreshing to see that there are "true" Steeler fans ! All this "brass bashing" that has been going on is making question the education of Steeler Nation, but this forum has stabled my opinion that there are way more of those who are actually educated. Just my opinion , but I feel that Colbert, Kahn, and company have done an absolute outstanding job this off season. Don't get me wrong, I hate that we have to say good bye to JH and Lewis, but considering the alternative..............best of luck to both. However , I have a slight feeling that JH just may end up back here ! I posted earlier that I would hope that Sanders moves along, and brings that extra 3rd rd pick , but I am fine with keeping him as well. Just trying to make the most of the situation.

Meh, just another offseason of discontent in the Steelers world. Getting out of cap hell isnt as easy when you miss on picks like Bruce Davis, Jason Worilds, Tony Hills, Kraig Urbik, etc and end up handcuffing your up and coming depth.

Lots of holes to fill and get younger and better. Plus I think an offseason of Ben buying into the offense and WR's /O line getting reps will help. I'm honestly not optimistic we can be 9-7 this season, but will see how it all shakes out in April.

thanks. It's been a tough off-season so far, and they haven't had much to work with. I also am looking forward to seeing what they do in the draft. I am a little more optimistic in that I don't see us being worse than 9-7. However, there's a long time between now and the 1st week of football.

As Colin Cowherd has stated:"The NFL is all about the passer. Get a passer, rush the passer, and protect the passer."

Kenny Vaccaro- S-Texas (OK w/Austin, Rhoades, Jesse Wms, Eifert)
I see no picks at 17 w/out some issues, must hit on #1, thatís why Iím sticking with Vaccaro, although not a Polamalu pick; fits a need should be above average safety for years.
David Amerson- CB/S S. Carolina (Lemonier, Brown, Green, Moore, Collins)
Ball hawk that provides depth at C and S immediately, time to grow into a starter, possibly to team with Vaccaro.
Ryan Swope- WR Texas Tech
Tough, quick, and fast, should soften the loss of Ward and Sanders.
LeVeon Bell-RB Mich. State
Not top notch acceleration or speed, but a complete back. The smaller backs arenít that much faster, so I will go with what appears to be a more complete and stable back for the long haul.
AJ Klein- ILB Iowa State
Best ILB on the board.
Rodney Smith; WR-FSU
Tall receiver to replace Burris, may not run best routes, but coachable and solid pick this late.
Vince Williams-ILB FSU

Really wanted a TE, but this mock gives us some playmakers on both sides of the ball. Remember David Johnson was having a tremendous game in Phila before his injury, has something to prove. We need hungry and humble players (with talent), not self-promoting ďstars.Ē

Hope we can move down, gain some picks (get one of the top 3 TEs; Ryan Griffin/Tulane, Sorenson S. Utah as developmental QB; Ray Graham).

As Colin Cowherd has stated:"The NFL is all about the passer. Get a passer, rush the passer, and protect the passer."

Yeah, I cant remember if it was Gil Brandt or Charlie Casserly that stated the 4 pillars that I mentioned. Cowherd just needs to add "defend the passer" with a CB and its complete.

As much as I think we need a late round OG, we have too many other holes to fill in the draft in those key areas.
