If you think he has any chance of the cover then you're out of your mind. No way he will even get past the second round against Joe Montana.

But still I voted for him, too. Maybe he will now get blown out by 79.99% to 20.01% and not by a ridiculous 80% to 20%.^^

I voted for him, but he doesn't have any realistic chance of beating out Joe Montana. I will be shocked if it's even close.

the rest of the NFL fans would vote Jim Kelley over Bettis just so a Steeler wouldn't advance - they DO hate the Steelers that much

Apparently not this is the second round voting. He beat Curtis Martin in round 1.

They must hate the Jets even more, because Bettis beat Curtis Martin in the first round by a significant margin.

I watched the matchup video. Best part was getting to see Kaley Cuoco's ass in some purple skinny jeans.

In spite of Steeler Nation's efforts, Jerome Bettis still fell to Joe Montana, who gained 78% of the votes. Can't say I'm surprised.

I figured. Bettis never stood a chance... and this is coming from a guy who loved Bettis.

In all honesty, that match-up was: an extremely good RB ...versus... arguably one of the greatest QBs to ever play.

Mean Joe versus Montana... now, THAT is a battle!!!

And yet in the NFL.com greatest plays bracket, a really good running play by Walter Payton in a regular season game against the Chiefs somehow beat out arguably one of the greatest game winning super bowl catches ever by Santonio Holmes. I'm not surprised in the least that Montana beat Bettis, but I would have also thought that arguably the best game winning touchdown catch ever seen in the Super Bowl would beat out a really good run in the regular season.

I voted Barry over Montana. I know Montana was one of the all time greats, but I loved watching Barry Sanders run the football. I would have loved to see him on a good team with a great line. Imagine him running behind the line Emmitt Smith got to run behind.

Sanders would probably be the all-time leading rusher if he got to play on those stacked Dallas teams.

There is no doubt in my mind he would be the all time leading rusher in NFL history. Plus Barry shut his career down and went out on his terms. He did not stay around and take the extra abuse to his body.

That is true. I wonder how well Emmit Smith would have played on those Lion teams?

hard to say how Emmit would have done. I think given a decent chance he would have had a long and productive career on any team. As for Sanders, didn't he retire partly so that he wouldn't pass Walter Payton?
