Any chance we bring him back? Charges were dropped and he is a gat 3rd down option for us.. We kept Tamu...maybe the kids learned his lesson and deserves a second chance??

He stands about as good of a chance coming back as his brother, "He Hate Me"

If the Steelers weren't willing to bring back Harrison, why would they bring back Rainey?

No chance. Zero.

Besides - i think the Steelers are aware of the fact that if he gets hit again (which he will) - he'll likely break in half this time.

Tomlin had no confidence in him. He barely made it on the field when at times he looked to be the best option. his career is over and lets hope not his life

But he was a rookie. Heyward barley made it on the field his second year, does thatmean we cut him?
With that said, iI don't think Tomlin will bring him back

I would be all for bringing this kid back. Especially since we apparently don't care anymore about arrest records, ie Ta'amu, or however you spell it. The kid could be awesome in preseason!!! *Until he gets punted through the uprights again like Eric Metcalf used to.

 Yeah, I bet our kickers could take a hit better than Rainey. Maybe that is why he has a history of battery with women......likes to dish out the hits instead of taking all the time. :noidea:

What would be the point of bringing him back? He showed nothing but the ability to be easily tackled.

He did have rapid wheels though.

He did have rapid wheels though.

Yes, but they are pointless when he is on the ground.

No, it means we bring him back, sit him for two years, let him play well in the fourth, and then lose him to free agency. It's the Steeler way!

Chris Rainey works out for the Chiefs, runs in the low 4.3s

The Steelers drafted running back Chris Rainey in 2012. After a couple of run-ins with the law, the Steelers cut him.

He has since been ignored by all other NFL teams.

On Monday, he wasnít. Per multiple league sources, the Chiefs worked out Rainey on Monday. Though he ran the 40-yard dash in the low 4.3s, the Chiefs have decided that they currently donít have a spot for him.

One source said that Rainey was timed on one stopwatch at 4.29 seconds.

Other teams now may consider kicking Raineyís tires. The only problem is that, because Rainey was accused of assaulting his girlfriend, some may be reluctant to take a chance on him, given the potential P.R. challenges.

At 4.3 seconds, itís probably worth at least testing it out with a focus group.

Nice priorities there Florio. He beats up his girlfriend but, hey, he can run a 4.29 40! Let's give him millions of dollars!

I don't know, but that certainly doesn't mean he didn't do it.

Good riddance. While Rainey might have world class speed the same cannot be said about his character. There's also the fact that he can easily be arm tackled and the Steelers offensive line isn't opening up holes big enough for an undersized guy like Rainey to be effective.
