Jarvis drops into Steelers’ lap
Posted by Bob Labriola on April 25, 2013 – 10:12 pm

For the second draft in a row, the Steelers had the guy they wanted fall right to them in the first round.
As GM Kevin Colbert had said on Monday, one of the thin areas of this draft were the 3-4 outside rushers, and when Dion Jordan, Ziggy Ansah, and Barkevious Mingo all were picked within the first six overall selections, the chances of the Steelers getting one seemed to be slim at best.

Harrison was so good because of his power not speed

I'm sry but u need power more than speed in the AFC north

Plays good at point of attack, play over tight end. I don’t know if he can run 40 yards down the field but I do know he can run 7 yards and sack the quarterback" - Chris Mortensen.

There are several receivers that should knock the Steelers socks off in the second round. Actually, several that have more upside than any currently on the Steelers roster.

If Elam is available at 31, I think the Steelers should really think about trading up. I would be more than happy with what we have to give up if we can pull that off even if it is the rest of our draft.

I wanted Vacarro before Jones, but I would be ecstatic if we somehow could get Elam + Jones.

nice thought, but i don't see us trading up. The class is stocked with good players and we need players - i can't see us "giving up" anything at this point.
I think we'll just stay and pick the best available at that point. Unfortunately, Elam will likely be long gone

Well hopefully that motivates both him. Hell I hope he knows that some fans absolutely hate the pick too. Really would love for this guy to be the next great Steeler linebacker.

I doubt that anyone hates the pick. There's no doubt that Jones has great talent, and fantastic upside. And we all know that we've had a full generation of LB picks that haven't worked out, so we're in desperate need. But what this pick really says is that Worilds is officially one of them. With so many starter positions open, it's clear that we are now in a rebuilding phase.
