Big East football, basketball and some other Olympic sports will be televised on the ESPN family of networks for the next six years.

The basketball deal, which begins in 2007-08, includes every Big East intra-conference men's basketball game on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360 or ESPN Regional television (except for select games on CBS). Big Monday will continue, as will a second weekly time slot on Thursday nights (on either ESPN or ESPN2).

The football part of the deal means ESPN and ABC Sports will be the exclusive cable and broadcast homes for Big East football.

Big East football sucks!!! Am I to believe there is a demand for watching my 1-10 Orange of Syracuse?

I would think that there are better conferences to choose...

The Big East is a good basketball conference. They were probably able to use that to get more coverage of their football teams. Good for them. If the ACC and SEC can get all their games on tv somehow, why not the Big East?

Agreed...it was primarily a basketball contract...the Big east is arguably the best basketball conference in the NCAA

Those are the ONLY good football teams. There are a couple of good teams in the Basketball. Other than that. The Conference is a joke.
