'33' in the End Zone ?

Ok...I'm wondering why the there is a '33' end zone poster covering....the last person that had "33" that was good was Bam Morris...

So what is up w/ the '33' ????

Actually, I too thought the "33" was for the year the team was founded. But when I was a game last year, this old timer in the seat next to me, told me that 33 was the number that referenced steel on the elements chart. So I am guessing the old timer was right since he told me he had been coming to games since 72.
