My Mock Draft
1)-San Francisco 49ers

QB-Aaron Rodgers-Cal

Oh how far the mighty have fallen. Once a model franchise in the NFL, now the Niners have hit rock bottom. There is nowhere to go but up. With the first overall selection, they will need a QB as Tim Rattay and Ken Dorsey have failed many times. Aaron Rodgers is a smart, accurate QB that can manage a game. He has adequate arm strength and his stock is higher then former Cal QB Kyle Boller's once was. Boller now starts for the Ravens and Rodgers will now startfor the 49ers.

Re: My Mock Draft
2)-Miami Dolphins

RB-Cedrick Benson-Texas

The Dolphins season was over before it began. You can thank RICKY WILLIAMS for that. The Dolphins turned to Ricky, a former Texas standout with dreads and now will turn to Benson, a former Texas standout with dreads. Ricky let down everyone by his retirement. The combo of Sammy Morris and Travis Minor landed the Dolphns the #2 pick, where their main choice, will obviously be RB.

Re: My Mock Draft
3)-Cleveland Browns

QB-Alex Smith-Utah

Form going to the playoffs in 2002 to drafting Kellen Winslow Jr. with the 6th overall pick in 2004 to drafting Alex Smith in 2005, the Browns have seen their franchise go in a downaward spiral. Butch Davis was all but a good coach and new G.M Phil Savage is a draft mastermind. Savage was the V.P of Draft Operations in Baltimore where he drafted Ray Lewis, Ed Hartwell and other such playmakers. Alex Smith has seen his stock rise from being a 4th round pick, to being a 3rd overall choice. Smith is smart, accurate and has the arm strength to tear apart defenses. Trent Dilfer is not the long term solution and many question if he is even the short term solution.

Re: My Mock Draft
4)-Chicago Bears

RB-Ronnie Brown-Auburn

From winning the division in 2001, the Bears have done nothing but lose since then. They haven't had one succesful season since the departure of QB Jim Miller and with Rex Grossman and Mushin Muhhamed in the passing game, the running game is singled out. The Bears have a defense, which ranked among the top ten last year. Thomas Jones is not the solution as he has been proven to fail. Brown brings the playmaking speed the Bears are searching for, and with Brown, he brings the threat to take it to the house every play. Brown was a standout at Auburn where he lead them to go undefeated in 2004.

Re: My Mock Draft
5)-Tampa Bay Buccanneers

RB-Carnell Williams-Auburn

The year? 2002. The place? San Diego, California. Why? Superbowl Sunday. The Tampa Bay Buccanneers since winning their first and only Superbowl have plummited to the 28th ranked team in the NFL. The Bucs have never had a standout RB, not even in 2002, when they won the Superbowl. Charlie Garner has proven to be a "bust" since Tampa aquired him from Oakland. Carnell Williams is the playmaker the Bucs need offensively. Carnell can spin, juke and deke his way to the promise land. His moves are his key attribute, but don't let that fool you. He has the ability to be a hard-nose, gritty RB and has all the tools for excellence.

Re: My Mock Draft
6)-Tennesse Titans

CB-Antrell Rolle-Miami(Florida)

The Tennessee Titans have had the worst offseason of any team in 2005. They have released Andre Dyson, Samari Rolle and Derrick Mason, all Pro-Bowl Candidates. With the void they left at CB, Rolle is to good to pass up. The former Hurricane has the speed of Randy Moss and his talent is unmeasured. However, people wonder weather or not he can step it up with the "no contact" rule the NFL is currently enforcing. Nontheless, Rolle should be a shutdown CB, something Tennessee, is itching to get.

Re: My Mock Draft
7)-Minnesota Vikings

WR-Mike Williams-USC

Ah, yes, former USC standout Mike Williams has been sitting at home for the past year, all thanks to Maurice Clarret. Williams is exactly what Minnesota needs. Randy Moss' replacement. The Vikes have put all their emphasis on defense this offseason, however the focus will be WR in the draft. Nate Burlson made his case to be a #1 WR catching 1000+ yards last year, but the Vikes are still in search for a possible #1 or #2 WR. Williams is big, fast and durable. His sophmore year at USC he helped the Trojans share a piece of the National Championship.

Re: My Mock Draft
8)-Arizona Cardinals

CB-Adam "Pac-Man" Jones-West Virginia

The Cardinals filled their QB need with Kurt Warner and are talking trades with Buffalo and Indy to get either Travis Henry or Edgerrin James to play RB. Add that to Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald and Bryant Johnson at WR and you've got a recipe for success. Obviously the Cards main focus for the draft will be defense. Trading away Duane Starks leaves Arizona with nobody capable of starting at CB. "Pac-Man" is a fast, physical CB who will shut a main WR down. Reminds me of Ty Law, he finds a weakness and picks at it. He will bring great tackling to the table also.

Re: My Mock Draft
9)-Washington Redskins

WR-Braylon Edwards-Michigan

Joe Gibbs return from retirement did not at all change the fact that the Redskins and Danny Snyder were born to lose. Making the biggest moves in FA every year hasn't helped a bit. Now that the Redskins traded away their #1 WR and released their #2 WR, they are in search for an answer. Bryalon Edwards can take over a game. Unlike Coles, Edwards has speed, but also brings brains and braun to the table. The tall WR played his career at Michigan for four years and is arguably the best WR available.

Re: My Mock Draft
10)-Detroit Lions

DE-Erasmus James-Wisconsin

Every year it seems as though the Lions have a Top Ten draft choice. And every year they screw up. However drafting Erasmus James would be far from screwing up. James missed the entire 2003 season due to injury, but made up for it in the 2004 season and the senior bowl. James lacks top end speed, however his uncanny strength will push tackles around. Many feel James is a naturual Nose Tackle, however with the Lions, he would, without a doubt, play DE. James is smart and strong which is what the Lions need on defense
