I am so tired of all these *******s on the internet talking bad about the Bus. They need to get a freakin life. Look what this guy Robert Littal (who the f*ck is he) said here is the link to the entire rant about Jerome:

Lets just stop all this nonsense of Jerome Bettis
being a Top 5 back of all time. I know Bettis is
a feel good story of the Super Bowl, but the fact
of the matter is that a feel good story is all it
is. Bettis has been a very good back for a lot of
years, but only a dominant back for a few. Specifically
for the last 3 years he has been nothing more than
a short yardage back. He has been replaced in the
starting lineup by the likes of Amos Zeroe, Deuce
Staley and ?Fast? Willie Parker, not exactly the holy
grail of running backs. Bettis has only rushed for
over 1500 yards once (which is the true barometer of
a great back) and even though he is a big back, he
has only had over 10 TDs in 2 seasons. Shaun Alexander
has almost as many career TDs than Bettis in half the
time. I like Bettis, his nickname is top 5 of all time,
but the only reason we are even discussing him being
one of the top 5 rushers of all time is because the
only other Super Bowl storyline is can anyone guess
how far Matt Hasselbeck's receding hairline goes back.

Those who denigrate Jerome do so because they don't understand what it takes to be a running back on a team which relies on a running offense not 5 years, not 10 years -- but 13 years. His resilience is his strength. We saw in the playoffs how on 3rd down, the Bus got it done even when the defense knew he was coming.

He is a short-yardage back who gets it done when the chips are down. That is what makes him a legend, a superstar and a HOFer.

The Bus has done nothin but go out and play his heart out every game he has played. He has played injured, sick, and still manages to push thru defensemen even at his age. He is also a man of great character and loyalty to the team and the city. This year the Steelers told him they could not afford in their budget to maintain his salary. Bettis took a drastic pay cut just to be able to remain on da team and play in Black n Gold. Where else in the NFL do you see this kind of loyalty to da team. Certainly not in da age of T.O. and Randy Moss and the Minnesota Vikings. Give me an example of a player wit overwhelmin character and loyalty to his team.. And then give me an example of where that same player is given da same loyalty and respect by his team. I'll give you one: the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Right, a class act indeed. But it seems like even that is the only thing you Steelers can come back with. Like the Seahawks (who is a team, not a person) he has been just average the majority of his career. Nothing to take away from his personality. I am sure he is a really nice person. However, unlike the Seahawks who are getting better, Bettis is just getting older.

I think a lot of people don't appreciate how much it means to fan base when a guy plays his heart out for them for over a decade.

You all will probably laugh to at the mention of him in the same thread, but we in Seattle have a tremendous affinity for Mack Strong. While I am in no way comparing him to Bettis in terms of what he has accomplished in the NFL, we love him because he's been here forever, he's always been a stand up guy, and he works his butt off blocking for the likes of Alexander. And he has never gotten any attention outside of the Puget Sound for this until he made the Pro Bowl this year, his 13th season.

Lame writers just try to tear down people like Bettis because they think it makes them look like they know more than the rest of us. But anybody with half a brain knows better.
