I'll say it before LITP beats me to it. I've read everyone of these books and because of my photogenic memory I can recite everone of them on call. Now, try to beat that! |
Re: Librarians List of Must read books:
Tony, the book is MUCH better than the movie, and the movie is a classic! Great just for all the bastardized Russian, if nothing else.
(Augusta, LOL...that's the reason I'm not posting how many of these books I've actually read. But nobody calls it photegenic or photographic memory anymore, it's eidetic memory) |
Re: Librarians List of Must read books:
Animal Farm should be included on that. That was one of the easiest, yet profound and amazing books I've ever read. Don't worry because I've read maybe three of those books at most. Peace.

Re: Librarians List of Must read books:
1984 supercedes Animal Farm. You should read it.

Re: Librarians List of Must read books:
out of the ones listed, my favorite is Pride and Prejudice. I read it last year and absolutely loved it. just watched the movie yesterday and it was pretty good, but I definitely prefer the book. To Kill A Mockingbird is also an excellent book and movie, gotta love Atticus Finch. I'm not sure The Curious Incident.. should be included on this list. I didn't really think it ranks with the others, but that's just me. it did somewhat remind me of The Catcher in the Rye, which is not on this list but should be.

Re: Librarians List of Must read books:
Remember, this is a list of recomendations from English Librarians. If this was a list of US librarians recomended books, Catcher would be there...Holden Caufield is still the greatest anti-hero of all-time in my book.
