AnySoldier.com
In light of our recent discussions here on Steelers Fever regarding the war in Iraq, I thought this might be a good time to post the website for those who might be interested in supporting our troops who are in harm?s way by sending care packages, phone cards, notes/letters/cards, etc. My family, friends, and co-workers send them all the time, and many of them have also involved their own families, friends, co-workers, church groups, golfing and bowling buddies, neighbors, organizations, etc., to help create care packages and share the expense.
Our soldiers very much appreciate our support and kind words, and this is an excellent way to show them we care and appreciate their efforts. The website also has links to other sites of the like in an effort to bring some of the comforts of home to our military men and women serving in the war on terrorism. I know we have some members here who are currently serving in the military. If you have anything to add, please feel free to do so. Everything you need to know to create/send the packages is listed on the site. http://www.anysoldier.com/ |

The group I belong to is:
www.operationsandbox.com The group is friendly..a lot like this one..and we are currently supporting over 500 deployed troops, and are getting more signing up every day. The cost doesn't have to break your bank..the biggest request is letters from people back home. I think everyone should do it, if they are able. It's definitely well worth the effort, and the first time you get a letter back, you'll feel like a kid at Christmas! |

These do help. I remember being over there in Desert Storm and receiving letters from a Kindergarten class. It made my day.

Re: AnySoldier.com
I just spent about an hour reading all the requests and letters from soldiers on anysoldier.com and I plan on sending out some letters tonight. if I had enough stamps I'd probably send out about a hundred letters but I'll have to settle for ten now lol. it really is a great idea, I included a link in my profile online so hopefully some of my friends will check it out too. thanks so much for sharing
