Farewell Kimo, ARE, and Hope! (Good Luck...)
Instead of locating each thread that speaks about these individual players and commenting, I figured I'd group them all into one post. :bouncy:

Kimo will be missed, but most of us knew his departure was going to happen. Brett Kiesel is such an energetic, awesome player - so - add that together with Kimo's age and you knew his fate.

I'll miss him, as he is quite a class act. At this past season's Bengals playoff game - Kimo stayed 30-45 minutes AFTER the game to sign autographs, pose for photos and just talk 'bout the outcome of the game. He was already feeling so bad for taking C. Palmer out of the game, but it was an awesome move by him. Plus, he'd walk through the tailgating parking lots to reach the stadium before games and letcha talk with him and stuff. Cannot ask for much more.

I was kind of shocked the Steelers did NOT persue Chris Hope more agressively then they did. He played a VITAL role in our Super Bowl run all season long and came up big in the playoffs. I figured he'd want to stay with a super bowl caliper team (since he is so young) to have the chance for future championships. How can he do that with the Titans? Hope's team decission shocks me as well. Ah well, just more reason to dislike free agency so much.

Just like Kimo, we'll all miss ARE - but - we knew we wouldn't be able to keep him after our SB victory. Chalk up another win for free agency. When ARE saw how much $$ most receivers were fetching, he starting packing his bags.

First, I do NOT agree he is worth the $$ he fooled the Redskins into paying him. That is either QB-type $$ or star receiver $$. Chicago had a much better estimate of his worth. Even though most fans are downplaying his worth to our offense, his absence is going to be seen during our play next season. He added the X-factor. He is the reason so many of our trick plays worked. Hopefully, we'll still be able to have that 'element of surprise' in our offense without ARE.

#67, #82, and #28 will all be missed, but...we CAN still repeat as SB champs without them. :)

First off, great post and I agree with the majority of what you stated. My question though, how do you figure that the Steelers "did not pursue Chris Hope more aggressively"? It was reported he was asking for 4 million a year. Do you feel he's worth 4 million a year?

In my opinion, the Steelers did pursue Hope, but once they found out he wanted top five money or four million a year, they said no way. While Clark's play remains to be seen in a Steeler uniform, I think he's worth the gamble compared to paying Hope money that he cleary is not worth in my book. Personally, I like the Clark signing and I think he will fill in very nicely for Hope.

@83-Steelers-43: At the time I created this thread, I did not know what the Steelers offered C. Hope. However, I'm one of the crazies that 'do' believe Hope is worth what he was asking.

I believe Hope is one of the premier players at his position, underated in many aspects. He is a great cover man, makes some good plays and overall just a good guy. Although, doesn't matter anymore since he has already signed elsewhere. haha

I hope Ryan Clark works out for us. I've seen lots of him since I live in 'dead'skin country and their games are always on. Not a bad kid.

@Stlrs4life-thanks for the compliments. I didn't know other screennames were as close to mine. Sowwie.

I'm going to miss Kimo. I honestly didn't think he'd leave the Steelers.

I will miss Kimo as well, normally once players leave Pittsburgh for more money i dont really care much about them anymore, but i hope he has a few good years in Ny with the Jets. They will be shitty and not any good, but i am sad he is leaving.

Hope on the other hand, See Ya. He missed tackles, got ran over, wasnt exactly great when he had to cover someone down the middle of the field. Sure he hit hard, but i just didnt feel he was worth keeping for the money he wanted. Especially after he started telling himself and others how great he thought of himself, i could go back to plenty of plays where he was screwing up. I liked him, but he is definately a case of being on a team who won the Superbowl and cashing in on it. I think Clark will do just as well as hope and come at a very much cheaper price.
