7th Round Pick?

Thanks gang for the welcome :)

I would like to see the Steelers select Patrick Body (Toledo) with one of their 7th round picks.

Due to a broken arm in his final season he may be overlooked but could easily have been a first day pick, with a 4.4 40 he could be a good depth player.

Las Vegas All-American classic Review:
Shaun Nua

Shaun Nua of BYU played extremely well at Defensive End. His speed pass rush made it difficult for the East QB?s to get into a rhythm with their receivers. Nua?s speed rush from the outside enabled the interior defensive lineman to get into passing lanes and cause problems for the offensive line. Nua also played Tight End where he showed NFL scouts his offensive capabilities. At 6?5 270, Nua playing at Tight End could be a definite asset to any NFL team. The West called his number as Nua went out for a post corner route with a miss-match on a 5-11 safety. Nua was sure to score but the ball was overthrown. ?My performance could have been a little bit better, I?m just happy to be here.? "I caught to two touchdown passes during the week, but during that play I was exhausted from playing defense the series before."

Nua also had a little extra-curricular activity in the fourth quarter during special teams. Nua and an East Defensive player continued to wrestle each other down to the ground well after the whistle. Both players smiled after being separated by the Sideline Judges.

The 2005, All-Star Classic ended with a bang. A show case of talent and promising ability was seen from potential NFL players. Key, Tupea, Nua and Fanene will hopefully join current Polynesian players in professional football increasing the number of Islanders in the NFL.

Re: 7th Round Pick?

Strengths: Runs hard...Has excellent size and a solid frame...Is a smart runner...Has good hands out of the backfield...Physical and will punish defenders...Good production.

Weaknesses: Really lacking in terms of speed...Doesn't have the burst you look for...Not a great blocker and probably can't play fullback at the next level...Doesn't stand out in any one area.

Notes: Came through with a big senior campaign after splitting time with Jason Wright in '03 and really put himself on the map...A bit of a 'tweener but could make it in the right role.

Re: 7th Round Pick?

Noah Herron Grade: 3.51 out of 6
Position: FB
Class: Sr
School: Northwestern
Conference: Big Ten
Ht., Wt.: 5-11, 224
40 Time: 4.74
Selected by: Pittsburgh Steelers
Round 7, pick 30 (244 overall) Grading System

BIO: Moved into the starting lineup as a senior, leading the team in rushing with 274/1,381/5 to go with 36/351/1 as a pass catcher. Shared the ball with Jason Wright as a junior, yet still posted 739 yards rushing with five scores.

POSITIVES: Good-sized ballcarrier with solid running intangibles. Keeps driving forward displaying strength in his lower body and a punishing runner between tackles who picks up yardage off initial contact. Works to finish runs and always giving top effort. Also patient, waits for blocks to develop and immediately finds the running lanes. Solid receiver out of the backfield, extending his hands to catch the ball away from his frame.

NEGATIVES: Lacks speed and agility around the corner. Not an elusive runner who can immediately change direction or make defenders miss. Must pick up all aspects of his blocking.

ANALYSIS: An offensive threat as a ballcarrier or pass catcher, Herron's ultimate NFL position could be at fullback. Has potential as a triple-threat player, yet must quickly improve all of his blocking skills as well as intensity.

PROJECTION: Early Fourth Round

Re: 7th Round Pick?

wow early 4th round and we got him 7th, i know hes a tough guy taht likes to pound ppl, the bill cowher type. i wont be suprised if he makes the team and plays special teams as the reckless kind of guy that throws his body around until jerome retires. when jerome retires, he might get a few carries
