why mark cuban should own the pirates.

last night for fan appreciation day for the mavericks, cuban, teamed along with american airlines, gave away free airline tickets to everyone in attendance. granted there were only 4 destinations (the furthest being st louis). but this was on the heels of the nets, i think, who covered the $1.25 turnpike fee for everyone in attendance there. alan iverson and c. webber didnt even bother showing up in time for the 6ers fan appreciation day. dallas hasnt won a champion yet under cuban but he fields a good, competitive team year after year, and treats the players and fans right. afterall hes a fan himself.

lol, yeah I saw that this morning on Sports Center.

Just one of many reasons why this guy should own this team.

If Cuban bought the Pirates, they would contend within if not before 3 years of owning the team. That beautiful ballpark that was just built would actually have butts in the seats.

NO...Mark Cuban is and will always be the Dallas Mavericks owner...I love the mavs (although I wouldn't mind him owning the Bengals too). Mark Cuban is probably the best owner in pro sports in my opinion. He's young, passionate, and very in touch with the players/fans.

what's stopping him from owning two teams??? mavs season is always done in may, and that's when baseball is really starting to pick up

he wanted to buy the pirates last summer. even attended a game. the pirates owners wouldnt sell, and the city of pittsburgh and thousands of displaced fans come out the losers in the failed deal.

That he is. If even a handful of owners in each sport were more like him it'd be great for fans everywhere.

This is just a prediction, but I look for Mark Cuban to stay active in seeking to buy the Pirates. I think he is interested in broadening his horizons beyond the Mavs. He has a natural competitive instinct and he would definitely be up to the challenge of resurrecting the Bucs into a consistent winner. This team, with a small to moderate increase in payroll could really contend for the NL Central, with its young pitching staff. We need some real bats and good clubhouse guys. While I admire Kevin McClatchy for keeping the team in Pittsburgh, PNC Park certainly sweetened the deal, and the front office and offseason acquisitions are major question marks.
