strangest thing about this draft
steelers and patriots havnt drafted any linebackers, infact together they have selected 3 tight ends (not an area of need for either team). what does this tell me?
with all the teams switching to 3-4 the price for lb's was greatly inflated this season and the steelers or pats werent willing to jump on the bandwagon and overpay for lb projects. im sure both teams wouldve gotten some if the price wasnt being driven up. lb's that probably wouldve gone in the 5th last year are now going in the 3rd. |

i dunno man...day 2 is kinda weird to me.....i really thought we would see a RB or a trade for a RB....maybe cowher forgot about duce and the injury bug....

On ESPN they did not show a round pick in 7 for us. Are we done or is ESPN dropping the ball?

Funny you thought that too. I think we are relatively deep at LB. They are an interchangable group which helps to spread the duties around and softens the impact of injury. As for the tight ends I think the Pats and Steelers are keeping a close eye on special teams. |

not many know all our back up lbs but they are the gildons, haggans, footes of yesteryear. if there were lb's out there to be taken you can count on the fact that either pittsburgh or the pats wouldve sniffed them out. im thinking other than the top 5 lb's and 2-3 convertable de's this rookie class was rather weak at the position (much like the wr class this year, and maybe to some degree the rb class) the steelers arent gonna waste their time with rookies they KNOW wont make their team. |
Re: strangest thing about this draft
This draft was definately weak at 3-4 LB/DE converts...if there is anything we know, its how to draft LB's. Rian Wallace, James Harrison, Andre Frazier are all great depth players for us so while we didnt have a needon the outside, the ILB position could use someone else other than Kriedwalt..but then again that may have made him expendable and he's too good on ST to be without him...we'll be ok.
