Tom Brady brought to tears about his draft-day fall

Tom Brady was brought to tears during an interview about his draft-day fall in 1999 for an ESPN documentary set to air Tuesday.

"The Brady Six" explores how all NFL teams passed on Brady for 198 selections -- including the drafting of six other quarterbacksbefore the New England Patriots called Brady's name at the 1999 event

Brady sat for an interview with NFL Films' Steve Sabol to discuss his memories. The three-time Super Bowl winner was visibly emotional as he recalled the frustration of the rounds passing without his selection and the support his parents offered him that day. (See video of the clip below.)

"It was hard," Brady said. "I remember taking a walk with my dad and mom around the block ..."

(A choked-up Brady sniffles, with his eyes reddening.)

"Sorry about that.

"Finally when the Patriots called, I was so excited. I don't have to be an insurance salesman, you know."

The tears start around the 1:20 mark - WTF?

It's good to know that he cries just as much off the field as he does on the field. :chuckle:

Maybe a fanbase that has spent the last decade rooting for Hines Ward should refrain from making fun of other teams' players for crying.

Maybe a Pats fan should refrain from commenting on Hines Ward given his cheating "dynasty" crybaby QB dances like a dweeb.

Wow! Some of you guys still can't admit the better team won. You have to cling to this idiotic cheating nonsense. For Christ's sake just man up. Even your own coach (Cowher) admitted the Spygate thing is complete horse shit

Your team is competing for titles and Patriots have devolved into a team that isn't talented enough to even get out of the first round. Belichick lost his mind years ago. He has insisted on hiring from within rather than hiring qualified coordinators and has made it his personal mission to destroy the Pats front seven- ensuring they can't stop anybody. His 2011 draft was a giant middle finger to Patriots nation. And to be honest, by day two I wasn't even pissed. His ineptitude was that damn funny.

None of you guys have to worry about the big bad Patriots stealing your lunch money anymore. I would think you would be happy. Instead you are still petty and jealous.

Unreal.

Check most of the draft threads around here and you'll read the exact opposite. Brady is going to personally shred our horrible defense and knock us out of contention next year. In fact, we'll be lucky to get in as a wildcard due to our porous secondary. LOL

Ummm - seems to me there might be a difference between crying immediately after a game (or not getting picked until the 6th round when it happens) and shedding tears over it 10 freaking years later at a time you subsequently have won 3 Super Bowls, are rich beyond your wildest dreams, and are married to a supermodel

As far as the "petty and jealous" crack, you are the petty one trolling on an opposing team's board.

As far as the "jealous" goes, get over it - Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls, 2 of which are since your team won it's last one - hard to be jealous given the facts.

Some of us just do not like your cheating coach and a QB who often acts like he is God's special gift to the world
