Linebacker U Debate
Inertesting link to some rankings for "Linebacker U", "Runningback U", "Quarterback U" etc...
Penn State was known as "Linebacker U" in the 80's. For the most part a lot of outsiders think Ohio State and Miami are more deserving of the title, but PSU is back this year with arguably the best linebacker trio in the nation. link: http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2...bate_LB_RC.htm |
Re: Linebacker U Debate
I'm kinda suprised the Pitt wasn't higher in the "Wide Reciever U" rankings...UCLA should've been on the "QB U" list......

Re: Linebacker U Debate
OSU scored top 5 in almost every category but QB...traditionallly, not a strong signal calling school. I also thnk Michigan wouldn't be so strong in the category if it weren't for Brady.
As for Big 10 LB corps this year, OSU is going to surprise some people. Poz and the PSU crew are definitely the class of the conference, and since the Big 10 is the toughtest conference in the country, by default they are the best LB'ing group in the country. |
Re: Linebacker U Debate
Ohio State has had a alot of WR also, but unfortunately Holmes felll in line with the rest of them with his arrest, OSU was making a move as WR U. But the arrest, and drug suspension, take away from the glamour of it!

Re: Linebacker U Debate
I Would still go with PSU as Linebacker U. Considering they have had one of the most dominating players at the position in each decade. Jack Ham in the 70's, Shane Conlan in the 80's. Lavar Arrington in the 90's and now Poz.

Re: Linebacker U Debate
Let's see, Holmes is a punk for having a few beers and talking back to a cop, but Bonds is a hero for juicing up, cheating to break records, cheating on his wife, and beating her?

But I have met Buckeye alum literally all over the place, and they have always been pretty cool and low-key compared to what I've seen from the "Axis of Evil" Florida schools...then again, I'm 36 and don't pay much attention to what the kids might be doing. |
