Ben pay's tribute to Ward
Ben Roethlisberger remember stepping into the huddle in his first year as a starting NFL quarterback.
“He was Hines Ward, one of the best receivers in the game. I got a chance to be in the huddle with him and Jerome Bettis. He made me better. It didn’t matter if I threw a good ball or a bad ball, 99 percent of the time he’d catch it, whether it was with one hand, off a helmet, or off a defender. He made me a much better quarterback and player,” Roethlisberger told Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Roethlisberger called Ward Wednesday night to thank him, and left a message on Ward’s voicemail. He said that Ward will always be a Steeler, no matter what happens in 2012. Re: Ben pay's tribute to Ward
I like what Ben says of Cotchery, and it matches my previous thoughts of him. Cotch is a lockeroom leader and veteran. We need to get him back.

Ben likes him and word has it Cotchery has had "productive" talks as of today. Good news! |
Re: Ben pay's tribute to Ward
I sure hope we ink him. He's already said he wants a long-term deal, and that will require some more cap room. Expect to lose some more veterans in the coming days.

Re: Ben pay's tribute to Ward
IMO Cotchery is a must sign now. Wallace may not be here, Sanders is always injured, Ward is gone.

Re: Ben pay's tribute to Ward
It always felt in the past whenever we needed a first down there was Hines with the catch and smile. I always got a kick of hearing other teams whine about him because you know they would have loved to had him. Hines will be missed but certainly not forgotten by this fan.

Couldn't agree with you more. Cotch is a solid WR. Not spectacular but generally dependable and a team guy. He would improve the WR depth chart on most if not all teams. |
