Mendenhall done?
 

Hearing reports we may get rid of Mendenhall. He's on slow recovery and won't be ready to atleast after this entire season and into the 2013 season.

if this is true, then this draft pick was a miss when we could have drafted Chris Johnson or Ray Rice.

also taking sweed in round 2 makes it a particularly bad draft

teh good news is we didnt spend a single pick on willie parker.

i dont think we save anything by cutting mendenhall, and if he spends the season on IR he doesnt cost a roster spot.

Correct Tony. We will keep Mendy because he doesn't cost a spot and we don't save zilch so he'll be on the PUP list and more than likely be cut in 2013 unless we get him at... wait for it.... vet minimum.:thumbsup:

However, I still DO like the Mendenhall pick in 2008, I really do (best part of that draft, was that my step-brother is a diehard Cowboys fan, wanted Mendenhall in the WORST way. Dallas was a pick before us and he was chanting "Mendenhall!" They went onto pick Felix Jones and we picked Mendenhall. So damn funny because he LOATHES us.)

Mendy could have been an absolute wrecking machine with a Dan Kreider in front of him. Bone-head Arians ended Willie Parker and now he ended Mendenhall behind a treacherous offensive line without any protection of a fullback. F***.

Sources told me that the Steelers will not count on Mendenhall returning to form until at least the 2013 season, and his contract with the Steelers will have expired by then. GM Kevin Colbert basically said he’s not counting on him until 2013 when he said this on Feb. 13: “I never feel good about an ACL until a year. I’m not a doctor, but that's my mindset. If he gets back before that, to me it's a bonus.”
Even if he does get back before that, however, he’s not expected to be at the level he was as a running back before the injury in the playoff game at Denver and subsequent surgery.

Agree...makes too much sense. The Rooneys wanting to be more balanced & if you all recall...the Steelers had interest in Bush back in the year he was drafted.
