US troops plotted to kill Obama

Four US soldiers plotted to assassinate Barack Obama and overthrow the government, a court has heard.

Prosecutors in Georgia said they formed an anarchist militia within the military.

One, private Michael Burnett, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and gang charges in the killings last December of former soldier Michael Roark and his girlfriend, 17-year-old Tiffany York.

Burnett said that Roark, who had just left the army, knew of the militia group's plans and was killed because he was "a loose end."

Prosecutor Isabel Pauley said the group bought 87,000 dollars (£55,000) of guns and bomb-making materials and plotted to take over Fort Stewart, bomb targets in Savannah and Washington state, as well as assassinate the president.

sounds like burnett was just a concerned citizen using his 2nd amendment rights to protect us all from the rogue "Joker" president who burst into our theater in 2008.

if the "group" went through the trouble to purchase $87,000 worth of guns and bomb making materials, they were obviously hunters/collectors/sportsmen. how dare you, or any article, try to paint these gentlemen in an unfavorable light. :jerkit:

point is that its a good thing someone (probably shiesty gun dealers) profited on the $87,000 that was spent???

i just dont see how that makes it alright, or even better.

(im not gonna be the one to defend anyone who is active in the plotting to kill a standing or former president, regardless of which party they represent)

This plot was taken down by the County District Attorney's Office in Long County, Georgia?

Odd the U.S. Attorney's Office, FBI, and Army CID did not bust up something involving uniformed military

Wonder if the DA got ahead of the feds bringing charges on this?

I love the "anarchist" part. "Anarchist" and "take over the government" shouldn't be found in the same sentence, but whatever.
