gettin' tired of ESPN's "first take"
 

i used to like this show. I like listening to Stephen A Smith and Bayless debating, etc, etc, etc. I actually like the show better than SportsCenter or the late afternoon ESPN football show.
But the show is starting to be the SAME thing every single day.

-the Giants & Eli
-Tim Tebow
-Peyton Manning
-the Patriots
-Tim Tebow
-RGIII, Cam Newton
-how much Tony Romo sucks
-more Tebow
-sometimes the Saints

Then...they still have 1 or 2 hours left in the show - should be PLENTY of time to talk about other teams, other games, right???
Nope.

It's time to cover the exact same things listed above..........again. A 2nd time. This time bring in Eric Mangini to discuss the exact same things they talked about in the first half of the show.
This is every day.

Want to hear them talk about the Steelers? Forget it.
What did they think of the pretty exciting Steelers/bengals game? Forget it.
Plus...there's a plethora of other action that happened not even talked about at all. Just getting disgusted with this. How much can you actually talk about RGIII in one week???.....meanwhile Andrew Luck is quietly becoming the better QB.

Wouldn't be so bad if the same subjects weren't talked about TWICE in the same day....multiple times, if not every day, during the week....while other important things are banished to never-never land.
Its so bad, i've actually had to switch over to SportsCenter....who at least go through every team/game.

Be thankful they didn't start pissing and moaning about Sanders' "injury" or the Wallace catch that was upheld after Lewis challenged it that pretty much iced the game, like they usually would. Haven't watched anything on that network in years now, personally, ever since their post-Super Bowl XL "coverage" and the fact that they've become the de facto "let's all blow Tom Brady and the Patriots 24x7x365" network.

I hear ya. But its not just about "not hearing discussion about the Steelers".

It's about hearing those exact same stories above.....EVERY....single....day
And its also other teams/games/stories/etc not even being brought up anymore.

Amen, nut you have to admit theres not that much excitement with the steelers, there really hasnt been for a long time, they are very laid bad and methodically either win or lose.

The only time I watch ESPN (which is based in BOSTON) is when Around The Horn is on. That's it.

I think Ryan Clark would be a good replacement for Stephen A Smith because he has the same degree in communications, he can articulate as well if not better AND his hairline isn't pushed back. :chuckle:

haha....the show's mantra and appeal though, is the "arguing", at times pushed overboard beyond what it really is for "shock" value. Skip Bayless is a terrible actor and he gives this away time after time.
I wouldn't call them "fake" arguments, but they're definitely "pushed" for TV.


p.s. And oh yea..............what were the first 2 stories this morning about?? Cam Newton and RGIII, of course....for the 4th time this week.
