ESPN Still Gives No Love For Ben
ESPN has a midseason top 50 players list up. You need membership access to see the whole thing, but lame part is that they ranked Ben at 10th, right below Eli Manning. IMO, Ben rules Eli every day of the week, and as it turns out, twice on Sunday.

Re: ESPN Still Gives No Love For Ben
Ben is having a MVP Season. Sadly he won't get it because of Manning. Ben is a beast. Best 3rd down QB in the league and also seriously showing why he should be in the top 5 conversation this year.

Re: ESPN Still Gives No Love For Ben
Most people, IMO, don't give him his due. He is still a joke to them because of the off the field issues. I get that part of it but if you look at the "field only" - he is having an MVP season. By the time it's all said and done, he will have more rings than Brady and the Mannings and will he an HOF'er. BUT, the off the field stuff haunts him. That's my belief. And the NFL network is even worse. That panel 1st of all is AWFUL (they all sound like they have marbles in their smouths) and they never give Ben really any credit until recently. Even then, it's back-handed. Again, I think the off the field stuff really hurts him.

Who care if he they don't think he's a top 5 Qb
We know how good he is but more importantly Players around the league know how good he REALLY is |

Re: ESPN Still Gives No Love For Ben
while they don't talk about him like they do Brady, Manning, Newton, Romo, RGIII, and now Luck - they have been mentioning him more than they used to (but still not nearly enough as they should...he absolutely belongs in that daily discussion with those others)
On a good note - Greenie from the Mike & Mike show has been praising him up and down the last few weeks. He keeps saying he'd take Ben over Brady or any QB in the league when it comes to winning a game and that he's the best QB in the AFC. I've heard him go to special lengths to make this point and discuss at least 3 times on the show over the last 2 weeks or so - and i haven't even seen alot of the show, so i'm sure there's been other Ben talk. |
Re: ESPN Still Gives No Love For Ben
10th overall sounds about right.
Personally, I think he is #1... but, I am admittedly biased. But, honestly, I can not see the media, or any unbiased person, putting several players ahead of BB (despite BB's gaudy 3rd down stats). BB is BB... he is not pretty; he just finds a way to convert thrid downs (& ways to win). Here are some other players, in no particular order, who would be top ten. And, again, honestly, how could one not put them ahead (or on par) with BB. Rodgers Peyton is having a great comeback. That 35 point secodn half in SD was nuts. He HAS to be in the top three this year. Charles Tillman. The dude is winning game by himself. Brady is still Brady. Like him or not, the dude produces. Breesus Christ. The Saints have NOTHING else.. and he still keeps it close. AP Eli. The dude is money in the fourth quarter. Andrew Luck. Laugh if you want, the kid has the most long completitions and long attempts of anyone in the league. And, he took an abyssmal franchise and has them as the #5 seed in the play-offs. While he's not (yet) "better" than BB, I would say that this kid is having a "top ten" type of season. |
