I would say, "Out until the playoffs".

Ben has a serious injury that has to COMPLETELY heal before he even considers setting foot on a football field. The general consensus from the the TV Docs (the real docs, not the regular talking heads) is that it will take at least 4 to 6 weeks for the rib to heal properly and that's just about when the playoffs roll around.

Even if Ben heals sooner, if we're headed for the playoffs, I doubt that Tomlin (based on last year's fiasco) would send him out there for a regular season game. Ben has proven time and again that he doesn't need a ton of reps to be able to play well and if we get to the post season, I'm sure that Ben would be more than ready to take over.
