Re: Warrant issued for Burress
Wow did he pick the wrong team to go to.
If the tax thing was true,he'd be arrested for his game at Philly. Now ehn he goes to his game at Washington (they play in Virginia) he'll be arrested. All that will happen is a court date will be set (he better show up) and he'll have to just pay the fine from the ticket. If he's a no-show again,he'll probally get slapped with contempt of court. Plexiglass better not do anything stupid in the states of NY/NJ,PA,VA/D.C.,or Texas.Because he has to go to those places once a year. |
Re: Warrant issued for Burress
Somehow this will all come out as a not being his fault because his agent never told him he had to go to it ??? sound familiar plax ?

Football players misses court on traffic charge; warrant issued
By JON FRANK, The Virginian-Pilot ? June 16, 2005 VIRGINIA BEACH ? New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress failed to appear in court Wednesday on a reckless driving charge, leading authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest. The former Green Run High star got the ticket for improper passing in the 3000 block of Atlantic Avenue, at the Oceanfront, at about 12:30a.m. on May 29. Burress, 27, signed the summons and promised to appear at 9 a.m. in Traffic Courtroom A before General District Judge Teresa N. McCrimmon. Burress could not be reached for comment Wednesday at his listed address in Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., near Miami. It is not known whether he was arrested or whether authorities are seeking to arrest him. According to ESPN.com, a Pennsylvania judge this month issued another arrest warrant for Burress, then rescinded it. Authorities in Moon Township, Pa., where Burress once lived, mistakenly believed that Burress owed $90,000 in back taxes. Burress was a legal resident of Florida at the time and did not owe the tax in Pennsylvania, according to his tax attorney. Burress, who signed to play for the Giants in March after spending four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was a standout at Michigan State University. He was chosen by the Steelers as the eighth pick in the first round of the 2000 NFL draft. In May 2002, Burress and his brother, Carlos, were arrested at the Oceanfront. Plaxico Burress was charged with public intoxication and given a deferred finding on the charge in July 2002. Carlos Burress was charged with assault and battery . He later pleaded guilty. Recently, Plaxico Burress donated $20,000 to the Green Run football program, which will use the money to buy new football uniforms, helmets and training equipment, according to a press release from Virginia Beach City Schools.
