Re: Potential Draft Targets

I know I proposed this in a thread earlier and it wasn't too popular, but I still think trading up for Te'o is our best option now, especiall since we're already likely selecting in the first half of the first round. He's really the only sure thing I see in the first round, and would not only fill a position of need (Foote) but would bring the leadership and playmaking the defense lacks.

I love te'o but I dont see him getting past detroit so we would have to trade up just not sure if we can afford to trade away picks

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it only cost like a 4th round to move up 6 spots last year ... if that's the trend and the same this year ... it might not be a bad idea ...

but I think you should add Kyle Van Noy on the 1st or 2nd round area ... like he's becoming one of my favorite players fast

Re: Potential Draft Targets

Yeah I don't think Detroit will take Te'o because they have a long-term MLB commitment in Stephen Tulloch already. I wouldn't trade into the top 5, but I think Te'o could slide down to 7 or 8, in which case a trade up could be very manageable without losing much more than a third rounder. If that were the case, I'd gladly trade a third rounder for Te'o than sit pretty and take whoever falls to us.

R1 - I love Elam. I think that anyone who's read a post by me already knows this. 15 might be high for him, but then again... That said, Jordan seems like more of the 15ish pick (and then Vaccaro or Rambo or whomever in R2 or R3).

R2 - Kyle Van Noy looks really good in R2.

R3 - I've mocked Shayne Skov to the Steelers since September; so why stop now. BUT, I have watched Leon McFadden a lot... and the kid is great. I was hoping he'd go R5... but, he had an amazing year, and WILL go R3.

R4 - Nico Johnson (or, McFadden)

I like the Elam pick, but I also think we need to improve the OLB position as well, since Harrison looks to be on the decline. I also like Van Noy, but think he might slide to the 3rd and we would be fortunate to get him there.

I dont know what to think of the Dion Jordan hype. At 6'7" he doesnt look to have the leverage at the point of attack for a 3-4 OLB. If the Steelers think he can be, then fine. I like a couple options as follows:

RD1- Elam-S, RD2- Corey Lemonier-OLB, RD3 Van Noy ILB(Arthur BrownILB or Montee Ball)

RD1- Dion Jordan-OLB, RD2 Eric Reid S, RD 3 Van Noy, Arthur Brown or Montee Ball

I don't think it's no way Van Noy lasts until the 3rd ... we would be fortunate if he lasts until the 2nd ... but I can easily see him jumping into the late 1 early 2nd category

Re: Potential Draft Targets

Here are some later round guys that we might be interested in:
Margus Hunt-DE-SMU- Guy reminds me of a more athletic Keisel
Alec Lemon-WR-Syracuse-Great hands and route runner
Anthony White-DT-Michigan State -big body with good athleticism
Duke Williams-S-Nevada-hard hitter with good ball skills

Just a couple guys that are projected to go in the later rounds but could always shoot up draft boards depending on bowls and combine.

Hunt may shoot up boards since he had a huge bowl game last night with 3 or 4 sacks, forced fumble and several other pressures and tackles
