- The more I read the more I start to like Hightower. With that said I believe our need to improve the OL is much greater. We have 3 stars at LB, do we really need a 4th? I know a 4th star would be great, but I think we could find a quality LB in the 2-4 round. If Poe is there we run to the podium, but he won't be, so with the 24th pick the Steelers should take the best OL on the board, no matter which position he plays...
RD 1 - OL
Round 2 -
Steelers are always BPA when it comes to drafting and don't reach too often, at least by their own board, which is different from Kiper or who ever. With still needs at NT, LB, OL, and possible depth WR, RB, TE, CB, S & OLB. I believe the Steelers will look at NT, but the problem lies with will one be available when they pick? I have seen 2 guys graded out as 2nd round prospects and if any of the two are there, the Steelers should jump on him. If neither is available, then maybe the best LB or OL on the board. With that said, at least one of the NT guys slides down to us in the 2nd round.
RD 2 - NT
- So far we have ignored the LB position and this is the round where we make a move, but only if the big board says so. If a player falls to us, no matter what position, we should take him to better our team. I think there will be quality LB's on the board here, someone who could get playing time this year. Steelers have found quality LB in later rounds, with Foote and Holmes coming to mind. With the 3rd round pick Steelers select the best LB on the board.
RD 3 - LB
- I think in this round Steelers seriouly start looking QB. With needs still at all the positions above, I think Pittsburgh selects the best OL available.
RD 4 - OL
In no particular order the Steelers select QB, LB(inside or out) and WR.
I think FB will be addressed with UDFA
This is just my opinion, feel free to add or subtract to my picks...
