What is it with the Packers and their championship rings?
Just last week, it was discovered that a front-office employee pawned their customized bling, leading to a dream-come-true scenario for one longtime fan.
Now, another piece of commemorative hardware has turned up in a most bizarre facet.
The Chicago Tribune reports that DEA officials recovered Green Bay’s Super Bowl XLV ring (along with the usuals: copious amounts of cash, weapons, and drugs) while busting up a Mexican drug trafficking organization on Monday.
According to authorities, the ring was stolen from a team executive, though it remains unclear how it made its way to the trafficker’s hands.
Hopefully, this prompts the Giants, whom were just issued these bad boys, to keep closer tabs on their Super Bowl prizes.
