The use of the non-word "versing" is my pet peeve.
I can deal with modern and/or regional parlance, such as: gonna, ain't, n'at, y'all, yinz, et cetera...
But, "versing" is like nails on a chalkboard.
And, every kid does it. "I am versing Johnny's team in soccer." Argh!!! It makes my blood boil, and I tell them so: "NO... it is your team versus Johnny's team in soccer."
Every kid does it... but, not around me.
