Read the rest of the passage. Why are 2 enough? You can't defend 11 with 2. What was the point? I bet your pastors never went into that because they cherry pick to make whatever point they want to make instead of looking for the original meaning. Read what he did when Peter pulled a sword and used it. Then read Matthew 26:52.
Follow it by noting them accepting persecution peacefully afterwards - many examples in Acts. Not one defends with a sword.
