They were never radicals. Quiet, unassuming gay people were just never heard from. That doesn't change the fact that they simply wanted what straight people want. Some want marriage. Let them marry. Some want to be unattached. So be it. That are as unhomogenized a group as straights.

All generalizations are dangerous.
