Default Re: Can Locke Rebound?

Jeff Locke is a fine pitcher. Solid #3/4 guy.

He's not likely to K more than 5/6 a game, but even with his slide his season ERA is 3.27. Seems about right.

He was never going to sustain his first half. Every stat nerd looked at his xFIP and said, 'this will not end well'.

Any pitcher who pitches a full season (30+ GS) is going to have bad outings (around 5). The key is that you don't want the bad outings to snowball like they did for him in August.

His last three starts haven't been bad; a 3.71 ERA is probably his norm. You'd like to see his walk rate become less frequent, but he's still a solid SP.

If he can produce like that over a full season and every season he's in a Bucco uniform he will be a valuable asset.
