Steelers sign rookie defensive lineman

PITTSBURGH ? With less than 10 days before the start of training camp, the Steelers have signed their fourth member of the 2005 Draft class.
The team announced today it has reached a multi-year agreement with its two picks of the seventh-round, defensive end Shaun Nua. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Nua (6-5, 280), a second-team All-Mountain West Conference selection, played in 11 games during his senior season and posted 34 tackles with eight tackles for losses, eight sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defended. A transfer from Eastern Arizona Junior College, Nua earned junior college All-America honors.
Pittsburgh has already signed wide receiver Fred Gibson (4th, 131st), linebacker Rian Wallace (5th, 166th) and offensive guard Chris Kemoeatu (6th, 204th).
Nua was the first of the team?s two seventh-round draft picks (228th overall). RB Noah Herron (5-11, 224) of Northwestern was the other.
The Steelers report to training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa., on Sunday, July 31. The first scheduled practice is set for Tuesday, Aug. 2.
