Default Mock 53 man roster....

I am bored and with Training Camp approaching, I thought I would do a mock roster and Depth Chart. :)

QB #7 Ben Roethlisbeger -- Big Ben is back with a year under his belt
QB #8 Tommy Maddox -- Solid back-up
QB #2 Brian St. Pierre -- Servicable back-up, and cheaper than Batch

RB #22 Duce Staley -- If healthy, could be one of the most productive backs in the NFL
RB #36 Jerome Bettis -- The Bus is back, and its last stop is Detroit
RB #34 Verron Haynes -- Maybe could start for some teams? very effective on third down
RB #39 Willie Parker -- Will get some snaps as a change of pace back

FB #35 Dan Kreider -- A great blocker, and very underated
FB #38 Noah Herron -- Haynes is a FA in 06, I think Herron starts at FB and move in to Verron's role

LT #77 Marvel Smith -- Pro-Bowl Tackle
LT #72 Barrett Brokks -- Veteran back-up

LG #66 Alan Faneca -- Best Gaurd in the game
LG #68 Chris Kemoeatu -- Tough rookie who was very good at Utah

C #64 Jeff Hartings -- Pro-Bowler in last year, but this may be his last season
C #56 Chukky Okobi -- Very capable back-up

RG #73 Kendall Simmons -- Misssed all last season, but can be a domminating blocker
RG #74 Jim Jones -- Played on the Pratice Squad last year

RT #78 Max Starks -- Second round pick in 2003, he should be ready to play at this level
RT #79 Trai Essex -- Rookie third round pick, good quickness but needs work

TE #84 Jerame Tuman -- Solid Tight-End
TE #83 Heath Miller -- Rookie first round pick, could be starting by mid-season, has the tools to become a premier TE in the NFL
TE #87 Walter Rasby -- Veteran Tight-End and a great blocker

WR #86 Hines Ward -- One of the best all-around receivers in the NFL
WR #82 Antwaan Randle El -- Can play the X-Spot, slot, or flaker positions, and punt return
WR #80 Cedrick Wilson -- Will share time with El, but may move into Plax's role
WR #11 Fred Gibson -- Rookie fourth round pick with height and speed
WR #89 Lee Mays -- I can't see Cowher going with Young or Cobb

LE #91 Aaron Smith -- Pro-Bowler, very strong and plays hard
LE #99 Brett Keisel -- Good back-up

DT #98 Casey Hampton -- One of the best Nose Tackles in the game, missed last season with injury
DT #76 Chris Hoke -- Great back-up, played a lot last season
DT #74 Grant Bowman -- Practice Squad last season, was good at Michigan

RE #67 Kimo von Oelhoffen -- Very solid veteran, may share time with Hoke
RE #90 Travis Kirschke -- Veteran back-up
RE #96 Shaun Nua -- Rookie seventh round pick

LOLB #53 Clark Haggens -- Solid Linebacker, needs to be a more effective pass-rusher
LOLB #44 Dedrick Roper -- Very impressive in camp and in pre-season, a great athlete

MLB #51 James Farrior -- Great Middle Linebacker, runner-up in defensive MVP voting last season
MLB #50 Larry Foote -- Very solid Linebacker, not a big "playmaker"
MLB #94 Rian Wallace -- Rookie Linebacker who can play inside or outside

ROLB #55 Joey Porter -- One of the best trash talkers and Linbacker in the NFL, good pass-rusher
ROLB #92 James Harrison -- Looked great at Linebacker, and on special teams last season

RCB #26 Deshea Townsend -- Good cover-man
RCB #20 Bryant McFadden -- Rookie second round pick, very tough and he could see some playing time
RCB #24 Ike Taylor -- Could be his last season with the Steelers

LCB #27 Willie Williams -- Solid veteran Cornerback
LCB #21 Ricardo Coclough -- Second round pick in 2004, great athlete, might be the starter
LCB #29 Chidi Iwuoma -- Gunner on special teams

FS #28 Chris Hope -- Hard hitter, he should be better in his second year as the starter
FS #23 Tyrone Carter -- Very solid back-up, could see time in Dime formation

SS #43 Troy Polamlau -- One of the best Safties in the game, big playmaker
SS #33 Russell Stuvaints -- Solid back-up

K #3 Jeff Reed -- Coming off his best year, he was very consistant
P #17 Chris Gardocki -- Very good punter
